Well the Crawford report is in and it has called for big changes in the Australian soccer scene. The SA board has resigned (officially on May 2nd) and will make way for an interim board to implement changes recommended in the report. The PFA (Aust) have unveiled the new look NSL the "Australian Premier League" is the new name for the NSL and will be enacted in 2004-2005 with the board changes. Harry Kewell is involed and is believed to be a part funder in the new venture.
The APL will consist of these teams:
1 Perth team (Glory)
1 Brisbane Team (Strikers)
1 Adelaide Team (Force)
3 Sydney teams (United,Olympic,) & (parramatta?,spirit?,wollongong?,marconi?,newcastle?)
3 Melbourne teams (Sth Melb,Knights,Dragons?)
the remaining 2 will go to teams who can be financially sound (remaining clubs or NZ)

well the APL will consist of 10 teams that means 3 teams will FOLD and that in my opinion is bad because sysney have 6 teams and Sydney United, Olympic, Wollongong and Marconi are deep with tradition and history in the NSL and it would be a shame for them to fold to make way for 3 teams. I believe that the Football Kingz are simply wasting a space in the NSL that an Australian team sould fill and they should compete in the NZSL and play in a NSL(APL) v NZSL comp. But that is the brand new details on the revamped NSL
