Brazil have confirmed that they are to appeal against the provisional international ban on defender Roberto Carlos.

The Real Madrid man was sent-off for pushing referee Alon Yefet in the match against Portugal.

The incident was included in the referee's report and Marcel Mathier, the chairman of FIFA's disciplinary committee used special powers to suspend the player until the disciplinary committee hold their next meeting.

Is it true that Carlos has the biggest legs in world soccer? How big are they meant to be, because I heard they were bigger than most bodybuilders.

Maybe you meant the strongest ones? Due to his size I doubt that RC has the biggest legs around.

Roberto Carlos suspended for Bayern Munich return leg

March 1, 2004
NYON, Switzerland (AFP) - Brazil defender Roberto Carlos will miss Real Madrid's Champions League return match against Bayern Munich next week after he was banned for two European games by UEFA.

Roberto Carlos was punished by European football's governing body after hitting out at the head of Bayern's Argentinian defender Martin Demichelis in the first leg of the second round match last week.

Roberto Carlos scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw after Bayern goalkeeper Oliver Kahn let the ball squirm under his body.

Is there any player that has not been linked to Chelsea yet?

Roberto Carlos scotches Chelsea transfer talk

MADRID, Spain (AP)— Real Madrid defender Roberto Carlos has denied media speculation that he plans to leave the club for Chelsea.

The Brazilian left back said there was no truth in suggestions that he has signed an agreement to join the big-spending Premier League club when his contract expires in 2005.

The news here last week were that he intended to stay in Real, and was looking forward to next year.

Yesterday however the news changed with a quote of €30milion for his Chelsea transfer.

RC and Figo, as I saw it, were the two players that did not sink in the REAL debacle.

I say this as someone who was loved RC since his days in Serie A, who sees RC and Redondo as the greatest foreign players to play for Madrid in the last decade, and therefore, as a fan.
The truth is, while he may not have been as bad as Raul or Pavon or Beckham or Zidane, this was his worst season ever in a Madrid shirt. The only ones who played well were Ronaldo (except last 5 matches), Solari and Cassillas. Meija won a lot of hears as well. Figo was quite good, but he never seems to know when to release the ball. RC and Salgado were below average by their standards. The rest sucked lemons.
