well i gotta hand it to you guys, you looked great and we looked like crap.
I don't agree. Technically, you guys were the better side. We just outworked you guys and got a bit of luck. Weidenfeller, Kruska (on Diego) and Tinga were awesome.
Good game Dortmund, we will get you next time!!:D
If we don't learn how to play that way at home, yeah, you will! LOL!! :)
Only 3 losses for us so far so im still cheerful, and you guys arent a bad team to lose to.
Thanks man. It looks like we feel the same about the two sides. Bremen are my ex-wife's favorite club and even that isn't enough to get me to dislike Werder! LOL!! :D
You guys are showing the way to do things right in the Bundesliga. And you guys are still my title favorites.

it was a brilliant performance on friday as well what a game.
We performed that way against Aachen too. We just had no luck. BvM said the difference between Friday's match and the matches against Bielefeld and Aachen was that Bremen came to play football, not just try to keep us off the scoresheet.
And I think he was right.
Guys, this type of performance has been coming for the past month. You just needed to be patient.

I only got to see the last 15mins or so but BVB looked as good as I've seen them this year - if not better.
Actually, I think we gave the same type of performance in Munich on opening night and against Aachen last week. In both of those matches, we just had no luck in front of goal.
Smolarek had quiet a few chances and jumpstarted the
attack numerous times.
I love what Ebi is doing for the team this season, but I don't know what you saw.
I don't think he had as much to do with "jumpstarting" the offense as Sahin and Valdez did. Valdez set up the first goal and was the one fouled for the penalty on the third. I thought Smolarek had a quiet, workmanlike night. He did his part and we need him to keep it up.
Weidenfeller was safe in goal - as always.
He was f'ing awesome! Kicker named him as their "Player of the Week".
Let's just hope this gives the team confidence and they go on a winning streak.
The team has to get over their fear of playing at home. They clearly look more relaxed playing on the road than they do at home.
Tinga - thank Zorc for finding him and bringing him over!!
That's one thing they did right. They should have found another older player for this team. One problem we have is that we're "too young".......

A week ago, it seemed it was just you and me posting here. I guess it just took a victory for everyone else to come back..........

Hey guys, haven't been around for quite a while. Unbelievable 3 points today. :)
Yeah, it was. And where the f#ck have you been?? ;)
Though I am an ultra-optimistic supporters, I really thought there is no way we can win this one. Maybe it was a little bit lucky in some situation, the win was ok in the end. We showed so much more than what we did show in the last home matches.
I didn't think we could win either, but I also didn't want to the team to be "scared". I posted that opinion to the list. I didn't say they could win, but I said we always play Bremen tough in Bremen and I didn't see where this time would be any different.
And it wasn't. They did take confidence from the way they played against Nuernberg, Bielefeld and Aachen. We had some luck against Bremen, but the guys worked hard, did not back down and showed courage for the first time in a LONG TIME.
I think they made their own luck.
"jonam", I don't know what you saw in the last two home matches. I saw the same type of performance against Bielefeld, with more mistakes. I saw the exact type of performance against Aachen with no luck in front of the net.
I also thought BvM said it best after the Bremen match. He said that the major difference between the Bremen match and the Bielefeld and Aachen matches was that Bremen came to play football while the others just stayed back and tried to keep BVB off the scoresheet.
I think he's right.

It was just one match. We won't know if this is a turning point until after this Saturday's match with Hertha......

We usually beat them at home, but this season, it seems our players are afraid to perform in front of the home crowd.

Two great performances in a row and 4 points out of them. You'd not hear an argument out of anyone if looking at the two matches after Bielefield we were to expect 4 points. Of course it's a bit strange the order we got them, but the win against Bremen HAS to be a jumping off point for the players. This HAS to be the corner to turn. I couldn't think of a better confidence boost (apart from Bayern) for all of the players, regardless of who did well or not. This has to get them fired up or else I don't know what else will. Whether BVB win against Hertha is a different story. As long as it is a superb effort I wouldn't mind dropping a few points. If the performance can keep up the results will follow.
Very encouraging win indeed.
Quick question for those who saw the match...Why was Sahin taken out at the hour mark? Trying to save some wear and tear? Did he pick up a slight injury? Or was he just getting tired?

He was sapped. Couldn't give any more. He even seemed to be apologizing to BvM as he came off.
Great effort and a wonderful performance by the kid.

That's pretty much what I've been trying to tell you all the past few weeks. The team was performing better and better but just having no luck. On Friday night, we finally got some luck.
Boy did we get luck........
