Ryan Giggs has announced that his girlfriend, Stacey Cooke, has given birth to their first child - a daughter.

Ryan and Stacey have yet to name the girl, who was born seven weeks prematurely at 09:40 on Thursday 10 April, weighing three pounds six and a half ounces.

Ryan's daughter is in an incubator but is breathing on her own, and mother and baby are both said to be doing well.

You know what, I think Giggsy becoming a father will have a big bearing on whether he is shipped off in the summer. I dont think he will be sold, after all he will want to remain in Manchester to be with his new born kid, right?

Well, I guess that's possible, but it's also true that when a player moves on to another country, his family usually goes with him. And it'll be a good few years before schooling becomes an issue with the newborn baby.

But either case, I hope Giggs stays!
