Come on you guys…You’re giving this sorry sicko what he wants and he’s never had before
“Attention”
Ignore him just like his mother did (Never knew which one was his father) and he’ll dry up and go away.

Sorry. He threw me a hanging curve, and I couldn't help but knock it out of the park.

And would you look at that. Two of the last three posts featured the same response. BRILLIANT (I know we should stop but its too easy)

Yes, he did hang it out there but I think he did it on purpose.
Maybe he was used to his father hitting him on the head and he just stopped doing it.
Now he needs the attention. Now he's gone...!!!

Liverpool will stop itself unfortunately
you can't lead 2-0 twice at home against 2 midtable teams like Newcastle and Birmingham and don't win both

Arsenal will take it probably

You mean Blackburn and Birmingham. Newcastle are anything but a mid-table team.

Different style in Europe. Name a domestic game we played last season that matched a CL game we played in style?

Guess it depends whether your glass is always half full or half empty. We have dropped silly points in every recent season, but then we have dropped silly points in every season. In 1984 we won the Title, the League Cup and the European Cup … and lost to Brighton & Hove Albion. Such is the way of things.

We have been increasingly consistent every season we have played under Houllier. Our first we ended in seventh, our second we ended in fourth, but blew CL qualification on the last day by losing to Bradford, our third we finished third, won five trophies, but still lost to Middlesbrough away and out fourth season we finished second with our highest-ever Premiership points total and our highest total at all since we won the League in 1988 and we lost to Southampton and Chelsea in quite utterly shambolic fashion.

All teams do that. It’s the teams that do it the least that go on to win things and go down in history as the great ones.

With specific reference to this tie, it’s a bit fatalistic to consider the team to be their own worst enemies in this one. Our European record over the past three seasons has been very good indeed. We have proved sodding hard to beat, even if domestically we were wobbling at the time.

The intriguing factor in this instance is GH’s new-found urge to drive the team’s development on in a less typically cautious fashion. Add in our defensive worries at the moment (Henchoz out, Hyypia actually suffering a dip in form, amazingly enough) and you have the recipe for goals conceded. So I guess the timing of those goals becomes crucial in this game. If Valencia score early then we have to make the running against their defence. If we score early, they have to come at us and play to our counterattacking strengths - but can we stay deep and hold out? Last season, I would have bet my house on us getting a clean sheet anywhere in the world. This season I wouldn’t bet your house on it.

I think that GH has come to the conclusion that it's the counter attacking style that has let Liverpool down in previous seasons and doesn't want to see that happen again.

Counter attacking works best against teams that attack you and when you come up against other teams playing a similar style or purely defensively then you need to take the initiative. I think this is why Liverpool have dropped points against the weaker sides in the Premiership who have not played a style that Liverpool could effectively counter.

The problem is that when you do play a more attacking style then your defence suffers because it has less protection. This could contribute to Liverpool's loss of points this season which may well have them finish a couple of places below first.

They have improved a lot with GH but I think they're still a season or two from being genuine Premiership leader contenders particularly as Wenger's squad looks like it's hitting a peak this season.

Yeah, that's about the size of it. Ged has always spoken of evolving the team from a solid defensive base. After two seasons of rock-solid, but one-dimensional play, this is it. We're doing it. Bound to take the odd bloody nose along the way. C'est la vie.

This is exactly what happened to Arsenal when Wenger took over, the defence suffered a bit, but the forward play was improved beyond all recognition. Luckily, we had just about the best back four in the country at the time and coped reasonably well, but there were many games where I was wondering what was going on at the back.

As time has gone on, the team has found more of a balance between being pretty solid at the back andplaying dome great stuff up front. The change that Houllier has made will take time and maybe a few changes of personnel along the way, but if it works out like ours did, it'll be worth it.

If you were to say that Owen couldnt score to save his own throat Id tell you that it would stop Liverpool. He has been the only offense. Enter Milan Baros....who is this guy and how did we not hear of him earlier? Impressive young lad, so far.

He certainly looks like one to watch. I loved the control he showed in this weekend's goal. That was sweet. Why wasn't he played midweek? Is he tied in some way?

despite Arsenal's loss to Everton i think they'll take the title eventually
Liverpool are not playing like a team that going to be champions but i'll be glad if it turned out to be false

So, what are they playing like then, oh sagely "Liverpool fan"?? What is the last unbeaten team in the Premiership that has just enjoyed it's most successful opening quarter of a campaign since 1988 and is currently top of the pile thanks to an away win at Leeds by a virtual second 11 playing like?

Give me strength ...

Going back home next year for hols.(kids are finally old enough for the trip)

I sincerly hope that the scouse need to pick up something at Stamford Bridge to win the title.

Probably have to find a tout to get me ticket...but it would be worth it to see all those crying scousers at the end of the game.

Somebody had it in for them when they made that their last game of the season.
Not sticking up for them...gawd forbid...but if that were Arsenal and they needed points Wenger would have MI5 investigating it on the grounds that it was a vast conspiracy to deny them the repeat.

Dust off the history books Clanblue, a certain Mr. Dalglish scored at the bridge for us to win the title back in 1986. Of course won't need to win there this year, we'll have it won well before then :D
