Did anyone see the Setanta commercial air between the EPL Review Show on FSC?

Isn't that tv suicide?

I think I've seen either a GolTV commercial on ESPN Deportes or Fox Sports en Espanol (or some other round-robin combination involving these 3 channels, I forget which) before. Contrary to what you may think, cross-marketing does exist. Most of these channels are low budget, seriously strapped for cash entities. Do you think they're going to turn down that advertiser revenue?

And it's not like the customer is going to ignore the channel showing this ad, when that channel is showing a truly marquee event.

It is the same thing as Directv have commercials on Dish Network

I dont think it is a very big deal but I did not notice the ad. It may not have been sold by FSC and may have been sold by your local cable company as one of their target ads.

It was on DirecTV.. but I think it was ok, because the Setanta commercial also had the FSC badge on it

the commercial was part of directv's "local insert" ads. if you've ever noticed commericals on directv (or dish) advertising specific dish or directv products like ppv movies complete with channel numbers, these are those "local inserts". (the name is better suited to cable where the commercials actually are local). There are 2 commercials in a row every break. The setanta commercial was one of those inserts, because directv also carries setanta. That ad was not seen on the dish network or cable versions of FSC.

Saw the commercial you speak of on Comcast, so it was not exclusive to Setanta.

I should have said "Not exclusive to DirecTV," but you got it. It's possible the commercials were part of the rights fee when FSC sold the block of games to Setanta -- Setanta paid a higher price to also get the additional commercial exposure on FSC so that people would be clear where the 7:45 am EPL games went, etc. There's really no downside for FSC -- no one is going to discover this new channel, then cancel the sports package that includes FSC and get Setanta instead. They'll just add Setanta, one way or the other, and keep FSC, too.

Exactly. A lot of people have FSC and don't have Setanta. Not the case the other way around.

Yeah I have TWC so I don't think it was a Dish commercial.
