Well, two league clean sheets in a row [3 if you count Carling Cup match].
Here's my lineup:
Carson
Young - El K - Diawara - HH
Rommedahl - Faye - Thomas
Reid
JFH - D. Bent
Subs: Andersen, Fortune, Kishishev, Ambrose, M. Bent
It's time for Jimmy to come back into the starting XI. And he better make an impact -- like he did in the Carling Cup match.
Go Addicks!

BBC's Lawro predicts: Addicks 2 - 0 Man City
Sky Sports web site predicts: Addicks 2 - 1 Man City
I'm not a betting man, but I do wonder what the odds are that Mr. Pearce gets the sack. Probably better than ID's odds right now.

Here are the lineups [looks like a 4-5-1 for us]:
Charlton: Carson; Young, Hreidarsson, El Karkouri, Diawara; Rommedahl, Faye, Holland, Reid, Thomas; D Bent.
Subs: Andersen, Kishishev, Hughes, M Bent, Hasselbaink.
Man City: Weaver; Richards, Thatcher, Dunne, Distin; Sinclair, Reyna, Barton, Beasley; Dickov, Samaras.
Subs: Hart, Trabelsi, Johnson, Vassell, Corradi.
Interesting that Andersen is the sub at GK and not Myhre. Hmmm. JFH still on the bench. I wonder if we see him come on late though. Hmmm.
Go Addicks! Hmmmmmmmm.

Reid with an early go in the first mintue. Apparently he was tugged in the box too. Wow,that would have been a start.
I hope it plays out that the best place for Reid is in the middle, creating some attack. Too bad he doesn't have two strikers ahead of him.

Well, it's nice to see us escape a set piece for once.
We seem to be getting better and better at defending corners and the like.

Seems to me we should pull Holland off and put on another striker. Faye will just have to be the dmid he is and control the backside of the midfield.
Reid is playing well and should continue in his free role.
Go Addicks!

Darren's goal from a cross by Jerome Thomas.
It is so important that we have all our playmakers on the pitch at the same time. And if one comes off, we need one to come on. Too bad Ambrose is in the doghouse right now. He could come on for any of Rommedahl, Reid or Thomas and make the same kinds of plays.
Go, Addicks, Go!

Reid with another go! But misses over the bar.
Nice to see us keeping up the pressure. We cannot rest on a goal. We need at least another. It would be best to get it in the first half.

And we need someone else to score. I love Darren Bent, but we need a goal from Reid or Thomas or Rommedahl or even Faye or Young. Someone else to show we are more than a one striker team.

Addicks 1 - 0 Man City
City have played well and you could argue that they have had the better chances and made the better plays. But the Addicks have also had multiple chances. Reid could have had a goal or two.
Actually, Reid needs to get a goal to break through. It would boost his confidence greatly.

Hughes on for Rommedahl to start the second half. Hmmmm.
City starts fresh.
Barton and DMB threaten. Hmmm.
C'mon you Addicks!

Pretty even here in the second half. Bent with a couple of better decisions could have had a second goal.
We need to attack or counter successfully. We can't just defend. But I must say, I am less fearful of defending to the whistle than when Curbs managed the squad. I truly believe we are a fitter side under Dowie. We are fresh even at the end of matches. We just need to use our skills to the utmost to get more goals.

Okay, this is way too close. Off the post for City. We have to take care of the ball. I don't like "holding on" to games. We need to control and win. Our confidence is better, but we are a better team than this.
C'mon, let's finish this with a goal!
Go, Addicks!

Whew! Another win! Oh, boy, that was too close at the end. City seem really snake bit if you ask me. It's true that Charlton could have had another goal or two, but City had some wide open chances they complete missed. Thank goodness. Way to go Charlton. This starts the climb up.
