Pretty recently, I stocked up some money to buy soccer cleats(hopefully hummel's soon). I finally got them, and here are my initial impressions...
I have the Kelme Kameleon which I got for 90$, and the AZ T90 III(kng 100 version) for a killer 40$...
For the first time when I put them on, the Kelme's felt very snug, almost to the point where it was feeling warm in my foot. I have pretty wide feet(thus the choice on both shoes)... Compared to the Millenia, and Diadora Brasil Elite's, the K-leather on the Kameleon is pretty hard, I'm not sure exactly why. Walking around is pretty comfortable, though the toungue sticking up already seems like a problem... The AZT's were a very different impression, though according to most websites they are actually heavier than the Kameleons by a tiny bit, they felt literally cooler and lighter. Not cheaply plastic as some have descibed, but ya, you get the point...
Having had only days of pratice with them, here are my initial impressions... The Kameleon's are far easier to break in... They are also now more comfortable. After wearing the AZT's, I have a hard multilayered blister the size of a nickel just below the bottom of my big toe. The touch on both is very different, while sensitive on both, I would pick K- leather any day. Power is very hard to judge, I'm not sure what to think. My biggest gripe is that Kelme uses very short bladed studs, and AZT's use longer conical ones.
My impression right now is that the synthetic stuff is simply just an imitator of the K-leather, and the only real advantages are weight and water durabilty, but not touch or the "power" that everyone like to talk about.
