What do you suppose the impact on a player would be if he were shown thousands of pink cards by fans during a game for diving? I don't know if it would discourage diving, but it would be hilarious. There is a company selling pink cards in an effort to put an end to diving (google on "pink card"). Is there a realistic chance that this could have a positive effect on cheating?

It would lead to a new level of cheating: card cheating. Players trying to get their opponents shown a pink card (even if the opponents didn't dive) while diving themselves without being shown the pinkie. Real cheaters better themselves.
Then we would look back to the times when the game was only about fouling and diving, without all those nasty political campaigns to get opponents pinked out. :D

Really the only way to punish cheaters is with retrospective evidence. It is too hard for a ref to tell on the spot if somebody is cheating.
And really, IMO the only way to discourage cheating is to hand the manager equal punishment as the player. The manager is the one who should be controlling the cheating actions of the players...not the refs.

Wow. Could you over-react a little more? Perhaps the company will create a brown card for shit heads like you.

If the players played for Palermo or Juventuis, the color of pink was not much of an insult. :)
