Gerrard(?) nearly sprang Zenden on the thru ball, who saved Reading with his usual leaden first touch so Ingmarsson could clear. Moments later, it's Kuyt again with a terrific outside/in move, but Gunnarsson deflects the shot wide or it's trouble for Marcus. D is really struggling, and the midfield (especially Sidwell and Little on the flanks) has been nearly non-existant. Coppell has his work cut out for him at the interval...

Kuyt and Gerrard are just rampant at the moment. If Reading doesn't get them under control, the scoreline could get ugly.

GOODNESS! Off a corner, Kuyt with the header from 8 yards, and somehow he missed when it seemed easier to score. Marcus was completely at sea there, while the Reading D was basically watching the show...

Put Seol in for Hunt to try and get something offensively. Pray that the defense starts doing better.

And again Kuyt JUST misses left with a header off a nifty cross by the Finnan. Thankfully the whistle blows for half, as it seemed only a matter of time before Kuyt crashed the scoreline again. Frankly he should have had at least one, and maybe two more goals in the waning minutes there. An ugly, ugly 45 minutes by Reading, and one must think there are changes to come...

Total domination by the Reds. Posession 61% to 9%. Shots 7-1. Passes 285-102. There is really nothing for us to hang our hats on so far. Bringing Seol on seems a requirement to get the moribund midfield going, but beyond that the cupboard is a bit bare today.

Hunt is pushed over in the box after a Harper cross, no penalty call. Out for a Reading throw.

Liverpool corner now. Nothing comes of it.

Dicey call, but I don't think any Prem debutante can expect that call on the road...

Reading with a few deep throws, but nothing comes of them.

Agreed. I was just hoping.

Damn it, another push against Sidwell. Yellow for dissent. Better attacking so far, though. Seol...please?

Apart from a couple of decent passes Sodje has failed to impress. Bring in Bikey, get Seol on the pitch, and while we're at it, give Oster another shot.

Hunt with a stunning run, but its poked from him in the box, then a foul on a 'Pool player. Free kick a few yards outside the box.

Little takes, cleared and a counter for Pool but the ball ends up safely in Marcus' arms.

Jesus, Kuyt AGAIN. That was a fine save by MH. It's like he's playing 1v3 with the Reds attackers!

can Ne one tell me what the funk is goin on?

Seol is probaly your best one on one player/flanker in reading... but hunt and little is playing over him? is Seol sick or something?

is coppell playing to lose? does he wonna go back to D2?:D

A Harper shot is blocked after a Sonko header. Eventually goes out for a corner after stuff happens (specific, I know). 59'.

Little should be playing. Hunt is more questionable, but he's played pretty well in the second half so far. Seol hasn't done much his last few games, Coppell probably wants to give him a chance to come on later so he can go all out for a shorter period of time.

No pressure on the ball until it gets in Reading's half.
