You have Mourinho and his hatred/envy of Barca to thank for that.;)
I have a feeling Bremen will get the point they need at the Nou Camp.
I really doubt that.
As much as Mourinho hates Barca or whatever. We are talking of high caliber players in this team and are not going to go and follow stupid directions.
Specially considering what is at stake:
Chelsea still is not qualified and could be miracoulsy eliminated in the last match. Also, this can cost Chelsea the first place in the group, making disadvantage in the 8th finals closing as a visitor.
Besides these result doesn't guarantee that Werder will eliminate Barca.
Besides Wiese as GK had some good saves and Essian had a very close shot in the 2nd half and that could have equalized the score.
I really think Werder has played much better than Barca during this tournament and Chelsea just isn't as good or invencible as some pretended to be.
German teams are strong, specially in Germany.

It was ridiculous, even before the game the reporters were asking if Chelsea wants to lose on purpose! I don't think that had much to do with the win.
Congrats on the win, Bremen were clearly the better team this match, and yeah...can't wait for ballack to show his face vs. Bayern.

Great game tonight. We deserved that win!
Great atmosphere in the Weserstadion: Ballack was booed because i.e. for his elbow tackle against Fahrenhorst from when he still played for Bayern. The guy is a dumb a..hole. period.
The win was deserved! We outplayed Chelsea BUT: some players really need a rest after 65 minutes! I mean Klose, Boro, Diego, Lutscher, Wome and some others were exhausted. We really need to start some sort of rotation system in the BL!
We all knew that the game tonight was just a warmup for Barca. We'll have to win at Nou Camp. That's it.
Bring it on you catalonian burros!

The match was balanced,
both teams had some good chances,
but not many.
To say, that Cheslki lost on purpose is BS for me.
You just have to look, how close some shots missed the goal,
esp. the Essien shot.
It was a good defensive performance by the whole team,
sure, i have seen bmore entertaining matches by Werder,
but you are only as good as the opponent allows you to be.
And this time is was good enought to beat one of the best sides
in the world, so respect anda great thanks to the whle team.
@lgw:
Agree, some players need a break to recharges their stamina.
But rotation is not easy. Small BL sides are motivated, when they play
against teams on top and in the BL there is no real pushover.

watching the press conference with Mourinho was fun: He talked of 5(!) 2-meter guys whom they couldn't defend. (No Werder player is above 2-meters tall though). He also blamed the ref and his own personal screwed-up life for the loss. So nothing new really.
@ Eisenfuss: I know that true "hitzfeld like" rotation will never happen with Schaaf because he want to win every game and starts the best 11 in every game. But I think it couldn't hurt to give Andreasen and Klasnic a chance in the next game even after that win tonight. I think Pasanen should also be included in the 18-men sqad again - and soon Owomoyela and Zidan will be fit also.

No, chelsea is already qualified with 2 games to spare. in the last match, they will have to fight for the group winner.

What about Asamoah? (well, ok, he's not brilliant on the pitch, but at least he has a great spirit and is the NT's DJ ;-) ). Kehl played in Hanover as well..

What skill Joe Cole showed always aiming directly at Wiese, it's not easy.

No, they didn´t play bad and also had good chances.
If Essien can miss the goal from 30 metres by only 10 cm on purpose,
than he is more than world-class. ;)
