Didn't Chelsea need a point?
Nope they go through because Werder had to beat Chelsea 2-0 or more (to match the other game)

that would have been great. But by the looks of things, we were lucky in the second half. We need to tighten up our boots and fine tune the machine if we want to beat Barca (or tie them)

Congrats to Werder, deserved victory, they showed more heart.
What a shame it would be if they were to go out and lose against Barca. Bremen deserve to go through.
Bring on Barca!

Congrats on the win. I hope you beat Barca and go through, not just b/c I hate Barca- but b/c your team showed a lot of class by just playing good football. No diving, no crowding the ref, no crying!
I have to ask though, as a die hard GNT fan. Why did the fans boo Ballack, b/c he went to England to play? I would never dream of booing Fringes or Klose!!

funny thing is, Bremen didn't play that great either and still got the result. Klose was shit, so was Hugo, Wome panicked quite a bit defending.
But Mertesacker....when he plays, Werder always have a chance to stand up to Barcelona. World-Class performance by him, outplayed Boula and Terry IMHO.

Agree about Mertesacker, I knew he would step up. He is gradually becoming one of the best defenders in the world.

You have Mourinho and his hatred/envy of Barca to thank for that.;)
I have a feeling Bremen will get the point they need at the Nou Camp.

I know you're probably kidding, but thats bs, I really think it was just one of those days for Chelsea where one mistake was going to cost the game and it did. Poor refereeing again though, the Frings free-kick....he just lost his balance (Terry claims he dived  , but I thought it was pretty clear he just lost his balance).

I disagree, I don't think that TSO went into this game to intentionally lose. Chelsea always play to win. We definately missed Lamps tonight and dealt with a team that showed up, but didn't show up to play hard. While it sucks to lose, if it means that Barca don't go through- this will be a result most Chelsea fans can live with. Our hatred of Barca runs deep!!
WB is definately master of their own destiny. A win in the NC takes you through!!

Im not...Its Mourinho, dont be naive. Its not the first time, 2 years ago, he let Porto beat Chelsea to allow Porto to move on, on matchday 6.

Yeah, but don't forget Naldo. He's been great throughout the last weeks, too. Most of the time he was even stronger than Mertesacker.

i still think in the beginning we deserved to score. We played very well and Almeida, Klose, Frings all had good chances from close to score. I think the team stopped attacking as much in the second half but it worked well today. Chelsea only had 2 really good chances... Ballack and cole... Those ones from far should be saved by a good goal keeper like Wiese anyways.

He always played really dirty against Werder that's why.
But the Bayern fans hate him even more now. I can't wait for that c*nt to come back to the Allianz Arena. We will give him a "warm welcome". :D
