Barca Are F#cked! (http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-barcelonamessi&prov=reuters&type=lgns)

I know they have Ronaldinho, but I feel they NEED this guy as well.

You guys should be able to take them now.......

They are missing two vital players now giving Bremen an even better chance.

Borowski might be back in the starting lineup against Aachen. Klasnic will probably be on the bench after his flu. Pasanen, Baumann, Zidan and Owo are still out with injuries. Leon Andreasen has an offer to go to Hannover during the winter break. I think he's too good to be sold but should get a loan deal for 6 or 18 months. He'd be a starter at Hannover. Mainz wants Zidan back in the Winter break. I would be against it since he hasn't really gotton a chance to prove what he can do here because of his injuries.

The U23 has a very good season so far in the Regionalliga Nord. Midfielder Kevin Artmann is currently the closest to getting a pro contract for next season. French midfielder Amaury Bischoff (who needs to improve his athleticism), forward Martin Harnik and left back Norman Theuerkauf are in the mix as well. It will be interesting how forward Patrick Bärje will develop in the next couple of months. Until he broke his leg he was considered Werders biggest talent (above Aaron Hunt). He's a very speedy winger/forward.

Biggest talent in the U19 team which comfortably is on top of the U19 Bundesliga is currently Max Kruse who's mostly playing on the left wing and who's also a starter for the U19 National team. He might skip the U23 and move directly up to the pro team after this season.

footyfan, i'm a former dortmund fan too ;)

all throughout the 90's, but completely lost a way of keeping touch with them when i moved to new zealand, and the only team that i kept supporting was the national team.

so i'm not as committed a fan as you are, but 1997 was magical!

that team was amazing, 9/11 german starters, and both subs in the final german.

much better than all the other teams that win the CL that are chock full of foreigners!

great! now what does that have to do with Werder? There's always the option for a pm you know.

sorry :)

i'm not too familiar with pm's and things here, and i said that because he mentioned dortmund as being "my team" on the last page, in response to one of my posts.

but, if you want me to link it to werder..then i can say that this year's werder bremen team are just like that dortmund team in the sense that they also have a large majority of german player in the starting lineup when everybody is fit ;)

Werder seems to be struggling at the moment ... what is no good sign for the big clash with Chelski.

i think they just needed a wakeup call, after a run of "invincibility" they needed a wakeup call so that they understand that they are going to have to really play for keeps against Chelsea. (of course thats not my immediate reaction but what the hey ;) :p ) I am still optimistic about our clash on Wednesday, i think they can do it. Against Aachen, there were some periods in the game where they looked amazing (basically when they scored) they just have to remember who they are playing and what they need to do in order to win

Transfermarkt.de is reporting that Werder is interested in Aachen's Schlaudraff. Any truth to that???

Thanks!

I agree, Schlaudraff's goal this weekend was probably the best of the season so far.

I don't get it. Yeah. I agree that was a great goal, but other than his "flashes", Jan Schlaudraff really doesn't impress me.

Wonder where all the Bremen supporters from last season went to? They were closing in on a sub-forum.

Best of luck to Werder against Chelski. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Mr Bollocks getting booed throughout the whole game. :D
