Have you ever watched a Werder match? Pretty much everything in your post is just plain wrong. this kind of bull can only come from a frustrated H?V fan.
just that an opinion aaint facts.
Diego has more skills than any other player in europe, if he was a complete player he wont be playing for Bremen
and about Wome, Tripod has Testified above

I was just pointing out that Wome played like crap yesterday. I was soooo happy when they pulled him.

I would disagree that Diego is not a complete player, otherwise he wouldn't be playing for Bremen. I can't imagine (other than $) why great players would like to go to a team like Real Madrid or Chelsea to sit the bench! At Bremen he gets to go out every match and show what he's capable of.

Now why is that????? Why do some underestimate German teams and the BL so much???
Do you say if a player is "complete" then he should only play in Spain, Italy or in the ping-pong league....
Diego is a complete player and he does play for Bremen because he has not only good legs but brain too...

do you even know that the only reason Diego isnt playing in a "higher" league is because of how poor he played at porto. He was utter crap there, he wanted a change of scenery and he made the right choice with the Bundesliga. He was getting real recognition in Brazil, then he stunk at Porto, now he is back to recognition. Dont worry he's only 21, he will make it to a big buck club in the future. But until then, hes all werder

Yea I remember a few years ago on that Santos team, they were rating him higher than Kaka and teammate Robinho (something along the lines that Kaka is the diva, Robinho the showman, Diego, the MASTER). In my eyes, we haven't even seen the best out of Diego.

Sometimes it takes a bad game out of everyone else to see the true qualities of one player...Frings was abysmal last night, and so it was up to Diego to try to unlock the Barca defense, and he almost singularly did it.

diego was no where to be seen in the first half. When the game mattered diego got beaten by Motta who did what every team in portugal did, mark him closely and he does nothing.Second half, was different barca didnt make him as closely and gave him space and he did ok. But again looks like same old diego to me. He doesnt look like a great player but above average.

So what you are saying is Diego is only the Bundesliga's top scorer because of the crappy defending of the BL teams which is by far inferior to the defending of the teams that play in the mighty portugese league?

I don't know if that's what the guy was saying, but in the BL matches Diego has been held in check, from what I saw, it's mainly because the opposing team put a body on him.......

Someone to mark him who wasn't afraid to earn a yellow by fouling him when necessary.

It was the same way teams would put a clamp on Tomas Rosicky.

I don't think he was calling the BL defending crappy. I think you're being a bit over-sensitive here man.

I can't see where what the guy said was all that wrong.

My condolences to Werder Bremen and their supporters. I believe Bremen are able to win UEFA Cup this year, fingers-crossed :)

Ready to rock guys, good luck!

Well, I thought his passing was just bad for his standards. Didn't dictate the flow nor break up Barca moves, but I felt that was more to do with Barca just being better.

Yesterday I watched the 'Sommermärchen' and Klinsmann said sth. which really got demonstrated in the game. German teams play much slower than their European counterparts. Bremen, the best offensive team in the Bundesliga looked like a turtle which tried to hunt a rabbit. No offense to Werder, they really played good and belong to the best teams in Europe, but when they [including other BL teams] face the really best teams, the gap when it comes to the attacking speed is sometimes frightning. Barca and the EPL teams are just lightyears ahead at this aspect.

You are talking about Frings, right? Because I was disappointed by his performance, too. On the other hand he had to deal with Ronaldinho, Deco, Iniesta ...;)

not really Bl has some complete players in Lucio, Makaay, Sagnol,Demichelis in bayern. Lincoln and Ailntop for Schalke, Bremen Borowski and Klose(3/4 complete). And the most complete in Van der Vaart. others i dont rate them that highly... tha is just my opinion and there is no need to lose sleep over that.
concerning Diego.... he is so great but only if he had a vision or more ideas than just dribbling. in the Bl they give him so much room. but he can be great elsewhere tooo, if he learns to pass the ball more accurate

I don't. I think he had too much to do defensively and it was proven that the offense doesn't run that well when Frings has to concentrate as much as he had to on defense.......

hertha and footyfan :

i thought frings was ok.

not his best game at all, and he didnt pass as well or dictate as well as he normally does, but he still did ok.

he had too much defending to do. he needed some help (baumann).

and baumann playing means he can also go forward as well.

don't agree. It's about attacking "right". That means with the correct timing.
