From official site: Jason Roberts will be on injury leave for 3-4 months, based on his injury sustained during Blackburn V. West Ham game last Sunday --> broken metatarsal (http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10303~919698,00.html?).

Let's just hope that Nonda's 100% and will be for the rest of 2006 Jeffers is not the one to partner Benni and bring any good results...And I'm even beginning to wonder whether Gallagher could do a job for us up front.
We are getting hit hard by the injury bug so far this year as last year we were relatively unscathed. I guess it's catching up with us now...
Our next five games are going to severely test us as we have Basel, Villa, ManU, Tottenham and Feyenoord. I just pray that Savage and Emerton are 100% for all 5 of these as their loss kills us...as evidenced last Sunday against WestHam...
Tough days ahead...:(

Yeah, I know.
Sorry, I cannot think of any positives to take from the situation.
Like you say, if Franny Jeffers is our only hope, we may as well throw the towel in now - fighting talk, I know.

Don't listen to me. I'm just being a Negative Nancy.
It was just a swipe at the fact that Newcastle have a tendency to nick all our decent players.
Mind you, it's not all that bad.....I mean, they took Souness off our hands, the mugs!
