I heard a rumor at the game last night that there would be an announcement of an owner and a stadium on Saturday.
The rumor was: Hunt and Grapevine/Colleyville.

Grapevine/Colleyville would be excellent for me. For those that don't know, DFW airport is in Grapevine, half way between Dallas and Fort Worth. It's probably the same distance from central Plano to Grapevine, as it is from central Plano the Cotton Bowl, but straight west not south. It's a very suburban location, but actually more "central" to the entire region. More people live in Dallas County, but Grapevine is more towards the center of the expanding metro region. It's about 25 miles to downtown Dallas and roughly the same to Ft. Worth. Arlington/Irving/Grand Prairie are all south of the Airport, but close by (their combined population is probably 500,000 or more). I mention the DFW Airport because it's almost sure to be off of the convergence of I-635/ State Highways 121 and 114 and 360.
I heard a different city, closer to Plano but not Plano. Guess we'll see.

Heard it from another season ticket holder in the stands.
I checked out the Grapevine City Council site. They had 4 or so closed door executive meetings during June and July to discuss business opertunities.

Hell ye, I live right next to Grapevine. Wow this could be an awesome Saturday but somehow I doubt any of this will happen. How reliable is another season ticket holder? guess we'll have to wait and see.

Garber comments on MLS' stadium situation in Sports Business Daily:
"L.A. is online next year. We are very confident about progress being made for the New York/New Jersey team in '04. We are also making progress in North Dallas and Kansas City."

Okay, since we're talking rumors, this is from someone who works in the BURN office. The problem is, I was told to keep it to myself. But I can tell you that the city mentioned was not Grapevine.

Question: was the "season ticket holder" drinking a lot of beer and/or wearing rasta braids with very red eyes?
Just curious.

On the Burn's message board a few weeks ago, the "Insider" mentioned that the team was looking into a site close to the intersection of Stemmons Fwy and Beltline Rd.

Or Addison. Maybe they're going to start playing at Inwood Soccer Center.

I hope not. A Burn game could be scheduled anywhere from 5.30p to Midnight. Only one ref and no one to run the broken scoreboard.

Stemmons at 635 would be, without doubt, a great location. There is a lot of land there between Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Addison, north Dallas, etc. From Southlake to Garland, from McKinney to Duncanville, almost anyone in DFW can get there in less than an hour. For most people it's a half hour or less.
But, it's not the location I heard from a source that also, cannot be named.

Just like here in Austin - Pflugerville actually.
you can have 2 or 3 games in one week and then no games for 2 weeks.
