This may be slightly OT, but I'm a DCU fan, and it is about the local area so here goes...

I just tried to order the MLS shootout from Cox. I live in Reston in an area that doesn't have the digital upgrade yet, (though I've been hearing about it constantly since moving here 3&1/2 years ago.) The rep I contacted told me that it's not available to non-digital subscribers this year!! When I asked when we would be upgraded all he would say was "soon..." Why is it impossible to receive the shootout without the digi? Has anyone else run into this?

i ran into the same problem last year. at least on Cox, the MLS shootout is a digital only option. i think that they only allocated channel space in their digital tier to accomodate it, or something like that. i remember that a few years ago, you could order games on a pay-per-view basis with non-digital service. but i guess that all has changed.

do you have FSW?

No, I plan on expanding to include that if we ever get the digital service. I might have to get it before though. I just hate to send any money to the Golf channel. It's bad enough that overpriced hobby uses up so much land that would be better suited for soccer fields.;)

I'm green...
How did you know when digital was available? Lots of mailers or just something in the bill?

go to Cox's website and check here.http://www.cox.com/digitalcable/

Just plug in your zip code, and follow the prompts.

I followed your advice and found this:

"Construction in phase 4B has begun. The programming conversion (required for the availability of Digital and High Speed Internet Services) will continue throughout this year and into 2003."

Written last year and not yet updated for this year. Cox impresses, as always....

Thanks, anyway.

I'm pissed. I just called Comcast and they said that you have to have digital cable to order the Shootout package. I have basic. The thing is, I called earlier in the week and a guy told me that I had to buy a box and then I could get it. Does anyone with Comcast basic cable have the Shootout Package?
