No doubt.
Are there any intriguing area races other than the one for the 22nd Congressional District (i.e. the Exterminator's old throne)?

If you're asking who I THINK will win (not necessarily what I want to happen... but then on the other hand not necessarily what I don't want to happen) the answer is Perry. Here's how it's gonna go down...
Perry wins with about 40-44% of the vote as a few more Republicans/Conservatives than the polls currently show will "come home" either because they don't want to "waste" their vote on a protest candidate and risk the Democrats winning and/or because Kinky and Granny did little down the stretch to "earn" their vote.
Most Democrats who might not be currently polling for Bell "come home" for basically the same reasons as the Republicans/Conservatives do to Perry above: They don't want to waste their protest vote on Granny or Kinky who at this point don't seem like winnable alternatives to sticking with the Democrat. Also... Kinky and Granny have done little to seriously appeal to more strident liberals dissafected with a Democratic candidate that appears "too moderate" for them. Bell probably comes in second with close to 30-34% of the vote.
Granny probably finishes third with about 14% of the vote coming mainly from a combination of moderate/liberal Republicans who just like to complain about Perry and government in general, a small chunk of the "seasoned citizen" community, and some folks disgruntled about the Trans-corridor project.
Kinky probably finishes last with about 10% (or perhaps even less) of the vote coming mainly from first-time voters, some of the students at t.u., the "cannibus" crowd, some libertarians (both the liberal social kinds and the conservative fiscal kinds), and a few conservatives/Republicans who wish to protest runnaway government spending or the Trans-corridor project with their vote. Kinky had the potential I think to become a much bigger factor in the election... but he took a page from the Clayton Williams playbook in regard to "shooting oneself in the foot with his mouth" down the homestretch... and he did little to portray himself as a serious candidate when given ample opportunity to do so. Perhaps he could have made some serious headway by tapping into the "let's build a Berlin Wall on the Rio Grande" crowd by coming up with a serious border plan (more comprehensive than what was in his press release on the issue a month-and-a-half ago/more credible than his well publicized "Five Mexican Generals" plan from a while back).
On election night in this neck of the woods... I think the most interesting thing to see will be just how close Sekula-Gibbs can get to winning House District 22 as a write-in candidate.

I think Sekula-Gibbs will take it for dist. 22. 52% red in the district vs. 32% blue, plus a push from GWB who was in Sugar Land yesterday. Nick better step it up.

Call me a naive college student, but this is the whole reason why people should vote. If you don't, you don't have a legitimate right to complain.

I'm glad you listen to what I say! :)
Indeed...if you don't vote, I don't want to hear about it. That's your problem. If you voted, you can B**** all you want about the m-f'in Republicans :D

Allright, allright. Let's keep this civil, yeah? There's a politics board for a reason, otherwise keep it off these boards.
That being said, GO VOTE! I sent in my absentee ballot a couple of weeks ago, and like El Naranja says, you can't gripe about things if you don't try and change them.

Too bad the LH PO lost it before it even made it out of town.

I just voted in my new district 0040. There was a line of about 50 people at 9 am. Good sign regarding turn out. OUTCOME will be an unknown for now. Lets all hope for a change or at least a turn in the direction this state/country is going.
