well after the win last night we have knocked off the top two teams in the league and have what could be called a winning streak (at least this season anyway) in progress. do you all think that kc can make it to three in a row??? i think all signs point to yes since our next mls match is with dc and we seem to be the hottest team in the leagure right now...

DC hasn't scored in 4-5 games, or something like that. Somehow DC always finds a way to take points from KC. Something quirky is the norm with them when they host KC.
By all acounts, Thornton had to play very well to keep the shutout against DC wednesday.

I know, I know. Actually I was thinking about that game in October of 2000. And yeah, it wasn't against United, but it was a nice win. :)

Ahhh, I'm following now. Yeah, we can beat other teams in RFK, just not United.

Trust me. I've been to EVERY Wizards game since 1996 at RFK. The 1 point was a 45 minute game!
They keep torturing me. I don't know how I will handle it if and when they finally win there against DC. Of course they did win one game there in 2000...

KC beat DC twice in 1996 in RFK.
August 4, 1996 - KC 4 @DC 2
July31, 1996 - KC 3 @DC 2
Heck, we beat them 5-1 here that year too. 5 of the first 6 overall. Series is tied now, 8-8-1. The 1 being the aformentioned monsoon where KC spanked them all over the field for :30 before the heavens opened.

The game in DC that was a draw as when the lights when out in DC, no rain was involved. It was ended in an abbreviated draw. (June 10, 2000; match report: http://www.mlsnet.com/archive/results_2000.html )
The monsoon was in KC, and they postponed the game. They picked it up later, but this was before draws were allowed in MLS.

Not true. The tie is the 45 minute game at RFK in 2000 when the lights never came on.
