The German documentary "Deutschland. Ein Sommermaerchen" will be out on dvd in Feb 2007 in Germany.

Is this the one you are referring to or are you looking for the FIFA highlight one they usually do?

I am looking for something in English since I would not understand the German video.

These guys have a goals dvd of the 2006 WC and the final on dvd . . . I have some of their titles from the 2002 WC and they are well-done, with game commentary in English by British & Irish commentators

It is titled "The FIFA 2006 World Cup Film. The Grand Finale". It is 1hr 48 mins long. My copy is in PAL, Region 2. This is obviously the UK release as it is in English.
Not sure when it will be out in the US but I would think soon.

I got this video from Netflix this week so I would assume that it has been released here. It is in NTSC Region 1 so you can play it in the US.
