BELFAST, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Football hero George Best will feature on a million bank notes being issued in Northern Ireland next month to mark the first anniversary of his death.
Best, soccer's first superstar, will feature on the notes in his Northern Ireland and Manchester United strips.
'At the outset of this project we wanted to ensure that, in celebrating the life of this legendary footballer, we paid fitting tribute to his contribution to football in Northern Ireland and beyond,' Ulster Bank chief executive Cormac McCarthy said.

I'll definitely need to pay someone to pick one up for me over there. I plan to spend it on booze, birds, and fast cars. :D

Leave it to ESPN to declare him Soccer's FIRST superstar. No disrespect to the great Bestie, I beleive they left out the likes of Sir Bobby and Pele who predated him. Maybe the most noticable superstar, or maybe Superstar as it is applied now (ala Becks).

The rest I'm sure you'll just squander. ;)
Actually, I need a tissue. Where is Motterman whan I need him?
This is a terrific tribute to a man who may have done more for Northern Ireland in the last 50 years than anyone else.
And as far a being the 'first superstar' of soccer, I couldn't agree more. Pele might have been the greatest living player on the planet in the late 60's but he was still scoring boatloads of goals against Brazilian teams nobody ever heard of, but Bestie WAS the 5th Beatle. Bobby Charlton was Viera to Bestie's Zidane. George Best had more game than Michael Jordan while being a bigger slut than Paris Hilton. Most nights Mick Jagger wished he was George Best!

In Bestie's name, I plan to travel to N. Ireland, accumulate as many 5 pound notes as possible, and get roaring, bastard drunk.
A legend who I will always love and respect.
