Ok , lets try this again ,(Not sure why the last one was closed ) .
Which government do you believe is or was worse. The Islamic Republic of Iran or the government of the shah.
Mod note: Lets start this with a clean slate.

Fair enough, simply vote, and if you wish you can discuss otherwise in the thread.

EMROOZ TAVALODE ALA HAZRAT SHAHANSHAH ARIA MEHR MOHAMAD REZA PAHLAVIE...ROOHASH SHAD!!!
if shah was bad it was because he didnt want iran to become a communist country or a islamic one like its today..he was a real nationalist and loved his nation but i agree that he made some mistakes..like not killing khomeini when he had the chance..may khomeinis soul burn in hell!

why not? you are acting too slick there.. you make up a question that addresses no middle ground, your sample population is bunch of young guys who only know about "good" parts of the Shah and never lived under his rule... now if you ask this question from bunch of ppl in a party at your own house then sure it is cool BUT you are doing this in an international forum and by doing so this could be seen by non-Iranians and taken as fact of how Iranians feel about both government... so either come up with a constructive poll that addresses all the options or take this bs to rivalries... I am against the fact that you are exploiting this site to make a false statement.
I am sure most of us (well the older ones who have been in Iran) were pushed around by Basij forces but we can't pass judgment unless we go through some of Savak's torture too... I hope you guys see what is valanjak is trying to do, he is misusing you to make a statement… "Shahollah" or "ayatollah" both chapters of the same book just a different page.. stop the "partisan heckler"

I am not trying to do anything but to get people opinion , what other option should I add ? Should I add a
“neither” option? What would be the point of this thread of I do such a thing , its obvious that everybody is going to post for the neither option. I think you just cant handle the fact that shahs government , as bad as it was , is more popular today then the government you dearly defend on this forum. This is IRAN NSR , its not a political forum , this kind of poll is designed based on the forum and the audience which visit’s the forum , if this was a political forum then Yes I would add more option to steer up a more constructive debate but I don’t want to that on this forum . Now stop accusing me your nonsense allegations , if someone asked this question in Iran I am willing to bet everything in my life that more people vote for the Islamic Republic. It would be nice to see you criticize the current of government of Iran for once instead of always critizing the former Iranian government , its obvious that you have some personal interests in this terrorist like government of Iran.

Oh man that's like picking the lesser of two evils. Well at least in Shah's time Iran was a wealthy country. Personally I'm for a democratic government in Iran. No Monarchy please and no Islamic Republic.

There are many differences between dictators , are you telling me that there is not difference between Hitler and perhaps Castro?

by definition, no there are both dictators; however, the degree of dictatorship may vary. now, one cannot compare two dictators and decide which one is of lesser evil! trust me if castro is given the means, he would take over the world. you have to understand a dictator is a dictator. you cannot say he is a good dictator or a bad dictator.

Under IR we have lost much of our KHORAFAT that might have remained with Shah.
Additionally, under the shah Iran was an instrument of American corporatocracy that harms the entire world, not just iran.
but IR does many more ZESHT things

There are good apples and bad apples and there are good dictators and bad dictators , and this is what tthis poll is about, its not about how evil both government are and were .
