i think this needs a thread of it's own..

Ronaldo needs our help, he is 1% behind Fabregas. the Arsenal fans in there forum are voting for Fabregas, i think we should help Ronaldo.

Definitely a joke, Rooney should be 2nd, not Ronaldo ;)

This is for young player of the year.

Not that much of it is his fault, but Rooney seems to only have been good for half a year.

Have to agree. Rooney being injured and in a bit of a slump has hurt is chances. Granted Rooney's probably deserving of more, but Ronaldo has had a much better year.

To be honest, I think the list is the way its supposed to be. Cesc has been playing great, as has Ronaldo. Of course Ill vote for Ronaldo (once because we all know how Podolskiiy was handed that award at the world cup).

But if any United young player deserves it, its Ronaldo for all the billshit he had to deal with from his own supporters, then coming back stronger for the new season, also having a great world cup.

Rooney hasnt played much unfortunately.

Cesc is a great player, and when I said he would be world class, so many doubted me... infact...

He is a great talent, of that there is no doubt. However, I feel you are guilty of getting caught up in the hype machine. I am of the opinion that the previous Arsenal midfield and team carried him during their great spell and we are currently seeing the real Cesc failing to step up to the plate. He has struggled to perform and seems out of his depth. Cesc does his job relatively well, but he just isn't exceptional at any one thing. I don't think he has what it takes to become one of the very best. His development might have been hampered by being thrown in at the deep end so early. He may go on to prove me wrong, but I just don't see it.

Cesc will be a solid player, a good one. But I believe he's overrated. He looked nothing special in the recent U-whatever tournament where Spain were beaten by Argentina. I just don't believe he does anything well enough. Oh, he's competent and composed and I know he's young, but I just haven't seen anything that makes me think he's suddenly going to start displaying skills I haven't seen from him.

benni, I already wrote a long reply on the issue in the MU forum, but the bottom line is that so far the kid hasn't shown much. I actually looked up his stats - he scored 5 goals and made 6 assists over the past 2 seasons for Arsenal - hardly a great number. He's never been called to NT and I doubt he'll get a chance in the next 2-3 years. And quite frankly, Arsenal right now does not seem to be a team set for the future success - the kid may simply not a get a chance to show himself on the big stage for a while. So no, I don't think he'll even be the best Spanish midfielder at any point of his career.

Anyway, good luck to the United players involved.

Fabregas should not be that high, Ronaldo, Rooney Messi and Podolski have done far more than he has for his country. The vote is a complete joke, Rooney and Messi are so low down, yet they are probably the best players there.

Rooney hasn't done anything since his injury, and that has been for the better portion of the last year. Messi, while he has been great, hasn't been as influencial on a team as cesc is. Neither deserve to be so low down, but they are definately below cesc and ronaldo based on the last years performance.

Cesc was 18 starting for Spain at the World cup. With the midfield talent Spain have, thats quite an accomplishment.

come on guys Rooney isn't going to win it, that's obviously, would you really want Fabregas to win it ahead of one of our players?
