FIFA07 Patch Out...but be careful...

Here is the information regarding the PC patch for FIFA 07.

Patch contents :
1. Reduced accuracy of goalkeeper's lobbed passes and through balls.
2. Updated squad database:
- Added 257 new players
- Edited 13 players
- Updated approx. 2500 lineups, shirt numbers and positions
- Updated captain, kick takers and formation data for 51 teams
3. Fixed crash bug dealing with uploading a crest for your EASO Club.
4. Fixed crash bug dealing with goalkeeper backing into goal post while
using pace control.

Now here's my warning...so far I have downloaded 4 (!) English laguage versions of the patch and none have worked yet.
I keep getting an error message, and when you look at their footy forums you'll see I'm not alone.
Their admins have posted that they are working on it.

Even if you have an original copy of the FIFA07 executible, as I have, the patch says you don't and won't update the file. Once EA gets this mess resolved, and it actually does its job, go into the game and reset your rosters. That should update the rosters to a reasonable facsimile of new.

I posted on the EA UK forums and the moderator pointed me to the correct patch and it worked like a charm.

BTW - Ordered my copy of PES6 today from the Uk!

It shouldn't have to have come to that, if the EA shitheads would get their act together. I tried the North American, UK and Nordic English DVD patches (not the EA Downloader stuff since I bought the boxed game), and nothing works. People shouldn't have to download every english-language version of the patch and by process of elimination find out what's the right one.

So what was the right one for you? (not teeing off on you, just on EA's breathtaking incompetence of late - witness NBA Live 07 PC, which has more bugs than you can empty a can of Raid at).

The one that worked for me is: FIFA07_DD_ENGB.zip
It's for people who used EA Online to download the UK version of the game.

Here's a solution:


I have uploaded the my squads file to http://nut123.googlepages.com/D.zip

It is the updated squads file

Before you use it, go to 'My Documents\FIFA 07\D. My Squads' on your local drive, make a copy of the 'D. My Squads' file and put it somewhere you'll remember (Just to be on the safe side).

Now, download the file from the link above, copy the 'D. My Squads' file that is in the zip file to the 'My Documents\FIFA 07\D. My Squads' directory. It will ask if you want to overwrite the other file - say yes (make sure you have backed up your old one though!).

This does work, i have tested it.

NB: THIS IS ONLY AS A LAST RESORT IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE PATCH AND UPDATED THE ROSTERS AND THE TEAMS ARE STILL THE SAME

If you downloaded the game, you need the patch with the "DD" in the file name.

Patch did nothing for me.

It has always worked for me (except for a manager mode crash at the end of season 1 for Valencia, which I have yet to remedy).
