A couple of interesting lineup changes. Henchoz and McEveley in, Neill looks to be with Mokoena in central midfield. (http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10303~917603,00.html)
The good news is that or involvement in Europe allowed us to take the last round off, and of course the bad news is that we're playing Chelsea in this round. At least it's at home.

0-0 at HT.
Somewhat even play. The weather isn't helping.

Peter coming on for Pedersen, just a couple of minutes into the second half. Mort took some sort of knock there. :(

1-0 Chelsea. Joe Cole with a backheel goal. Ugh.

Nonda off for Roberts after Terry and Nonda collided. Radio Rovers says it looks like his right leg may have buckled a bit. Shit.

And, with MGP also already taken off, this is looking dire indeed. How's Sav playing?

He's not playing today. Mokoena and Bentley are in the middle.

I had heard that Hughes was *thinking* of not playing Robbie, due to knee problems, but I didn't think he would actually dare. *sigh* Well, at least Sav will get a nice, long rest, what with being out for Sunday's match V. West McHamwich.

hopefully West Ham's bad run will continue. As it is, we need to find a way back into this game first.

Frank Lampard entering the game looks promising for US :) :) He's got such sorry, dismal bad luck. (True pity, actually, from an England perspective.) Plus, he doesn't play very well in adverse conditions, which I understand Ewood is in today.

Wright-Phillips on for Joe Cole.

Friedel saved Wright-Phillips effort, but Kalou cleaned up the rebound. 2-0. :(

On a positive note, we could do without this kind of needless distraction. Also, at least it wasn't the FA Cup.
Maybe Blackburn can concentrate more on the season ahead, rather than keeping an eye on an unnecessary cup run.
