Nothing in the Benfica threads about him leaving yet.
Anyway, it appears that Cardozo is wanted by both America and Benfica.

Benfica's coach is our former coach (2 time former coach). He has an excellent relationship with our President and we've already traded 2 players this season (Katsouranis to Benfica, and Manduca to AEK).
We are looking for another striker but it's being said that it we cannot land them, that Benfica wishes to loan (with an option to buy maybe) Fonseca.

Well for any other team for him I would say, less than 50%, but the 2 strikers we want (Vargas from Monaco and Kepa from Seville) are VERY hard to get to Greece, even on loan as they are not playing.
But since we have a very special personal relationship with Benfica now, I would say that as the doors close on the other 2, it becomes more and more likely since we DESPERATELY need another striker.
But there is 1 thing though. I don't know if he's cup tied in Europe already, but if Benfica and AEK win their UEFA Cup ties, then they would meet in the next round. So he wouldn't play against them probably.

It says Panathinaikos have made an offer to Villareal for him. I wouldn't pay much attention to it.

He(Fonseca) doesn't want to end up in the mighty world class Greek league..
Fonseca should stay right were he's at, he should get much more playing time now and be at least the designated back up for Micoli and Nuno instead of having to fight for the back up spot with Mantorras.
BTW who/what is AEK??? :)

He will not play at Benfica. Santos does not have him in his plans. He told him to find another club. 2 Greeks at Benfica told him to go to AEK because the atmosphere between the players and the players and management is unreal. With AEK he can play in the UEFA Cup and if we finish where we are now or make it to 1st place CL next season.

Your wishes are all noble and good but remember it is Benfica that want to get rid of him. ANd it's not good to be where youre not wanted. I would recommend he takes any offer from any Euro top division team.
Oh, AEK are Greek giants.
