actually vela did pretty good although he was being fouled way too much, i saw some clips from the forums, and ummm here's an update on him...

Arsenal, satisfecho por evolución de mexicano Carlos Vela
El equipo inglés del Arsenal, dueño del pase del delantero mexicano Carlos Vela, se ha mostrado muy satisfecho por la evolución que está teniendo el joven futbolista, que milita en el Salamanca cedido por el club británico.
El jefe de los ojeadores del Arsenal, Steve Rowley, estuvo presente el pasado domingo en el encuentro que enfrentó al Salamanca con el Hércules de Alicante y en el que Carlos Vela fue titular y disputó 77 minutos.
Rowley reconoció que el estilo de juego que emplea el Salamanca es el ideal para la evolución de Carlos Vela, según han informado fuentes del club salmantino. “El Salamanca es un equipo que trata siempre de jugar la pelota en el césped, de tocar y proponer, es muy parecido al estilo que utilizamos en el Arsenal”, aseguró Steve Rowley, quien explicó que esta circunstancia les vendrá “muy bien” en el futuro “porque Carlos encajará bien en nuestro sistema de juego”, añadió.
Desde el Arsenal también valoran positivamente la evolución personal que está llevando a cabo el jugador mexicano que, en las próximas fechas, comenzará a aprender inglés con un profesor que ha contratado el club londinense.
Otro de los puntos que Rowley destacó es el hecho de que Carlos Vela esté jugando en diferentes posiciones, ya que el técnico del Salamanca, Javi López, lo está colocando como delantero centro y también en ambas bandas.
Steve Rowley califica como “un gran acierto” la cesión de Carlos Vela al Salamanca y señala que su paso por el conjunto unionista “le vendrá muy bien como futbolista y también como persona”.
Por otra parte, la plantilla del Salamanca disfruta hoy de una jornada de descanso y mañana regresará a los entrenamientos para preparar el derbi regional que el próximo domingo, en horario matinal, le enfrentará a la Ponferradina en tierras bercianas.

great stuff i really wanted to hear something from arsenal they have been very quiet about vela i wonder how he'll fit in with all the talent they have for strikers including the young Walcott

The good thing is that Vela is learning other positions, so when the time comes, he'll be able to fight for a spot as striker or wing on either flank, kind of like Giovanni who can do something similar, even though they have different styles.

These are some really good articles. Vela is doing big things. The MNT has a lot of potential to do big things in the near future.
