http://news.google.es/news?q=ronaldo+simpsons (links in Spanish, I didn't find them in English)

Ronaldo will appear in a episode of The Simpsons scheduled for 2007. He will play the character of a coach who teaches soccer to Homer, Bart and Lisa.

---

Looking forward to watch it. Knowing the sense of humour of the Simpsons and the state of shape of Ronaldo I guess we all wonder the same: who will be fatter, Homer or Ronaldo? :p

Who cares? The Simpsons hasn't been funny for a decade.

I'm afraid I have to agree with that, generally. Not as funny as they used to be anyway.

Maybe though this will make up for that Mexico vs. Portugal episode where Homer buys a gun. Here I was being told by soccerphobes that soccer was an elitist conspiracy to force a foreign sport on Americans ("the metric system in short pants" as some mouth-breathing idiot put it), and the damned elitist Ivy Leaguer writers over at the Simpsons proved they know about as much about soccer as they do about guns, which is not much. :p

Agreed, there were some classics down the stretch a couple of years ago, although last season dipped a fair bit.

Last year's Ricky Gervais episode was awesome.

wow. the episode was a commentary of gun nuts, and had a tiny joke about soccer, that was fairly funny. you sound like you are a bit sensitive.

Ronaldo and not Beckham? Strange.

Well, thatīs an interesting point.

Some years ago the United Nations conducted a research and they found out that the three most "famous" or known people in the world were:

1.- Bill Clinton
2.- Pope John Paul II
3.- Ronaldo

Thatīs why he became United Nations Ambassador and has been in several missions, including one when he visited Israel and Palestine the same day.

Not everything is marketing....

I'm hoping he would be Comic Book Guy's Brazilian cousin.

Does Ronaldo speak English? This will be the 2nd episode of the Simpsons that features soccer, won't it?

well... there was the soccer riot one that was the opening for the "homer gets a gun and joins the NRA" episode.

there was one where bart played for a soccer team and homer forgot to pick him up from practice

that's all i can think of right now
