In what is now good news for America, neither Claudio nor DMB made the bench for this one, both due to injury.
17 minutes in and Wigan is up 2-0. This is really not Citeh's year.

So the new manager will be able to use them and say it's a fresh start?

This is one of the worst defensive performances i have seen in a while.
Man City are terrible.

8/21?
That "10" and "8" sure look similar, who doesn't confuse the two?;)

I'm sorry, but whinging of the city faithful aside, what this side needs is someone who can hold a bit of possession, calm down and stop a poor performace from becoming a route.
Gee, someone like Reyna (when he's playing). A positive, attacking side that reeks at being positive and attacking is pointless. i mean, 4-0 to wigan, and more likely to be 5 or 6 to wigan than 1 or 2 for city, is pathetic. Not saying I mind. i'm all for clubs folding up camp early this season.

It's all Reyna's fault.
He faked his injury, so he wouldn't have to be on the pitch for this debacle.

Absolutely. Can't really blame this on the absence of Reyna and Run DMB, although they'd have to be blessed to have missed this one.
Man City's performance wasn't just disappointing, it was just plain sad.

The defending for the 2nd and 3rd goals was absolutely atrocious.

But that's also the reason he arouses so much controversy. He's really good at preventing these types of blowouts from happening, but it is unclear whether that translates to actually winning a game instead of merely tying it or losing by 1 goal.

A 6-2 dismantling of Bolton comes to mind with Reyna figuring prominently. But that's when they had Anelka. It's been a long time since City had someone who could do the business up front.

I'd have Reyna over Hamann anyday I'm afraid - especially down to recent performances. Pearce needs to get sacked and we need a whole new ownership or its the Championship for us

ManCity is like £60M in the hole ... and Pearce's seat is getting a ceramic cover.

I'm afraid that Psycho Pearce's handlers are advising him accordingly -- rent, do not buy; and whatever you do, don't send your laundry out!
After some flashes of brightness from Man City last year, Pearce has to sort things out, and fast.

And fast may mean next week. He's reaching crisis stage. a 1-0 loss would have been bad, but that's footie. A pasting like this, where they simply didn't compete, reflects very poorly on him.

A 4-0 loss is a pasting if they're playing Chelsea, ManU, Arsenal, etc. 4-0 to Wigan is simply unacceptable. I think they're in full crisis mode now.

Manchester City have reported an increase in turnover and operating profit for the year ending May 2006. Turnover of £61.8m (€92m), up on the previous year’s figure of £60.9m (€91m), was boosted by ticket revenues from the FA Cup run as well as concerts and increased commercial activity.
This was achieved despite a fall in television merit payments from City’s 15th place in the Premiership.
Chairman John Wardle said the City of Manchester Stadium continues to be a major asset with a 38% increase in income from conference activity at the stadium.
Wardle also reported that net external debt fell from £38.5m (€57.4m) in 2005 to £32.2m (€48m) in 2006. $117M in total revenues ain't exactly poor house.
