Most closely predict the actual number of scoring points that DC United accumulates as a team over the course of their 30 match regular season and you win!

Win what? You just win! And that's good enough.

MLS figues scoring points as follows.

2 points for a goal.
1 point for an assist.

Last year we had 31 goals and 40 assists for a total of 102 points.

Here are the rules ...

All entries must be posted before the whistle blows to open DC United's season on April 12, 2003.

Entries must be unique. If two people choose the same number the person who chose it second is disqualified. So check all the entries before posting yours. Tie breaker predictions may repeat.

I'm editing this post to say ... no editing allowed on the entries. Once it's in, it's in.

Ties will be broken as follows.

1st Tie Breaker: Team total shots.
2nd Tie Breaker: Team total shots on goal.

Again, the closest prediction to the actual number wins.

Entries should take the following form - using the 2002 numbers.

Points: 102
Shots: 334
Shots on Goal: 164

Note: Keep in mind that this season is 30 games long. Last season was only 28.

Good luck!

Here's the link for the statistical archive at MLSNet. It might prove useful if you're trying to figure out a likely range.

http://www.mlsnet.com/statistics/

On second thought, the better link is probably the one below. The year by year page has links to the team and league statistic pages. The "Team Totals" item for each year is likely of some interest.

it would be more interesting if the tie breaker was how many times Ray she's he'd "stab his mother in the eye".
