Dan's been good to us, but some goon at the Verizon Center (who likely wears a yellow jacket....hmmm) asked that he cut back on his United coverage.

Like yesterday, at the phone booth, a security guard stopped me, and told me how much he liked my blog, except for one thing: too much soccer coverage.

"Stick to the other stuff, man," he said. "The other stuff's funny. Nobody gives a [bleep] about soccer. You start talking about Ezekey and all that [bleep], and nobody gives a [bleep]."

I don't know, maybe this was the guy at the United practice a couple of weeks ago.

But feel free and leave comments letting Steinberg know that we appreciate his efforts.

You know, I don't give a [beep] about Ezekey either...

I reckon it can't hurt if we go comment that we like his DCU coverage.

Also, Dan links to a brief Q&A with Troy where he says he's back to full health, which is great!

You want a blog to remember? Sit him between Tommy and Vlad and sing the need another drink song. I don't know how much remembering he'll do though. ;)

Oops. Should have linked to Dan's actual blog. Thanks for picking up the slack.

And this must be worked into a banner:

By "Ezekey," I assume he meant Bog Hero Esky, who is developing a cult following. I told him this the other day.

"I consider myself a cult leader," Esky said, while nodding, knowingly.

Cult of Esky

The Headgear Cult

Troy Perkins, soccer tactical genius:

365: What do you see as the keys to this first round matchup?
TP: The keys to this first round match up are simple, WIN.

Troy Perkins, soccer tactical genius:

Tactics? We don't need no stinkin' tactics.

Troy Perkins and Al Davis (who woulda thunk): Just win, baby!

Hey guys: some arsewipe named Sherman Ezekey is calling out Steinberg because he used his name without permission.

What a Metro fan.

That's just a weird troll. There is no one named Ezekey listed in VA, MD, or DC.

From the Q&A about his salary:
"Obviously I am not happy with what I am making, but that is something that will take care of itself. I am not concerned about it. I am a firm believer in earning something before you get it."

gads - what a novel concept - how come pro baseball players don't realize this?

Also, about his current condition and health - I saw him warming up extensively with Simpson about 2 hrs before the Chicago game (about the same time he normally does) and I almost thought he'd be starting - He's back and will stuff the Bulls in both games

The United has had such a big lead in the standings throughout most of the season it appears the pressure has been off for a while. Is there any worry about this being the first really meaningful game in a while? Also I was at the Real Madrid game in Seattle and the feeling was that there would be no problem re-focusing on MLS play after facing three high profile teams (Celtic, Chelsea, and Real). The United won only 3 of 14 games after the Real game, was there a bit of a letdown?

The United...is this a piss take?
