I don't know. To me IE7 is a synonym of crap. I tried it and i hated it.
I've always been an IE user and hated everything else.
THis is why I'll stick to IE 6 at home and firefox at work coz I'm on a mac over there.
Happy surfing and the let the vulnerabilities begin!!

I'm using IE 7 right now, and while there are lots of things I like (it is pretty fast, fonts look great, tabs are easy to use, search control) there are some things that are bad. They took the main controls I use (back, forward, and the favorites menu) and stuck them further into the corner and made them all smaller (especially the favorites, which is now a star(!?)). It's like the designers don't know even the most basic principles of user interface design. Fitt's Law anyone?

We got a pool going at work for when the first major exploit hits IE7. It's only a matter of time.

I would highly recommend upgrading your home browser to IE7.

Add-ons for IE7, that COST money?
Reason #56 why I prefer Firefox. Extensions are FREE. (I have NEVER seen any extensions you had to pay for. Ever.)

Can't spell Micro$oft without $.
Don't worry, i'm sure someone will have it for free.

How about when they actually get around to fixing it?

You're implying that all IE7 extensions cost money.
From what I've seen, a huge percentage of IE7 extensions are free.

Shouldn't they all be free?

Well good!
After all, it only took 'em SIX YEARS!
What happened since then:
I was in HS when v6 came out and have since finished college
People that were 10 years old then have now learned how to drive
Those same people have girlfriends, maybe have had two
Babies born in 2000 have now started school and have friends
Two United States Presidential Inaugurations (GWB, and GWB re-inauguration)
At this pace, the next major update to IE, (version 8) will be out in 2014!

Have what for free? If someone develops an extension and charges for it, how is that Microsoft's fault?

I guess it depends on the perspective of the person who develops the extension.

Which, is why extensions should be free.
Suppose you make an extension and charge $5, then I come along and create that same thing and let people download it for free. Even if I let people voluntarily donate money (maybe get a professional version), i'd start attracting your customers.

Yes, but I have not seen ONE, not ONE Firefox extension that cost money. I saw at least 4 on one page when reviewing IE7.
Feh.

i read you won't have much choice at some point whether or not to upgrade. I thought it said it would be part of the normal updgrades/patches that are downloaded at some point.
the review I read of it said it had the best tabbed browsing of any browser out there. I love tabbed browsing (it's my fave feature on safari) .... but it ain't available fo Mac so I guess I'll never know.
.... and I'm over it.

It's up to the developer to determine the cost.

That doesn't mean that shareware Firefox extensions do not exist.
