With a 1 - nil result to KC, we should be pleased..bacause despite the nightmare of Saturday we enter the All-Start break in excellent shape leading all-comers....

Dallas by seven pts..now they only have 1 game in hand...
KC by seven pts...played the same as us
Scum...by eight pts..two games in hand ..so the side giving us the most pressure right now
Col...by eight pts..sams amount of games played.

Also three more wins will guarantee a play-off place....

Time for the guys to take a well earned rest, and then bring it home!!

btw attendence last night 7,959...havn't seen any threads bashing that??

Well, some ramblings on a Thursday morning...

right on rccoul.....a bottleneck forming with the Quakes at the top....

here is the remaining league schedule:

Saturday, August 17th
D.C. United at San Jose

Wednesday, August 21st
Dallas at San Jose

Saturday, August 24th
San Jose at Colorado

Saturday, August 31st
San Jose at D.C. United

Saturday, September 7th
Columbus at San Jose

Saturday, September 14th
San Jose at Los Angeles

Saturday, September 21st

four matches with the Western conference and two against a struggling DC United. plus Columbus at home. Quakes can end the playoff dreams of three teams by continuing its home dominance.

but the road results need to change and land in our favor....

GO Quakes!

Shhh, no brains allowed this is the SJ board.

SJ isn't exactly in a commanding position, all it takes is LA to win it's two games in hand, then there is no advantage as we play 2 times at the end of the season.

Plus we've pretty much sucked all year long, and we're still in ripe position to win the west again, so don't pat yourselves on the back too much.

There would be a two point SJ lead , which means you would need to win both games against us ..where as we'd only need to win one...a considerable advantage.

Given that all teams but us exaggerate their attendance figures, and that no fixture last night drew more than 10,500 or so, I don't think any trolls from any other franchises have any room to bash our attendance any longer.

Harumph!

That damn brain thing is happening again...

Thats assuming we are 2 points behind at the end of the season (really unlikely, one way or another).

Also with 2 points, we win a game, the next game is a tie, we win by 1 point. Genius.

Ok, but you need to achieve two "results" we need one win..in this scenario...anyway I'd much rather by up by eight points than have games in hand..history time and time again proves that the teams with the points in the bag generally finish on top!!
