Last night on Gol Tv' Mexico, Lindo y Futbol, they had a segment on America's youth system (which does not pertain to this thread), however after the segment was over, they started talking about which clubs were doing things right and which ones were not.

What was funny was that one of the commentators at first said he was not going to say name, but then he did. He mentioned Cruz Azul.

unbelievable!

Apparently, Cruz Azul's youth director in Guadalajara has no ties to football (soccer). He is a physical trainer of some sort that through contacts landed jobs. Back in the late 80s, he coached Santos (without any sort of curriculum).

One of the commentators actually commented on him through his own experiences. HE said that guy was not a football (soccer) guy and that he would insult the players that soccer was for ladies. He would have them doing american football drills. They also said that Cruz Azul's school in Guadalajara has not produced one kid. The commentator said that Maturano was "desformando" kids (i found that to be funny, but sad at the same time.

The guys name is Ruben Maturrano.

if anybody recorded the show.... maybe the can upload it

Well. Wait. That sentence doesn't make sense. He had not ties to soccer, but he somehow managed to DT for Santos AND Cruz Azul Hidalgo before he landed his current job. The guy has ties to soccer.

From googling, it seems he also was DT for Queretaro.

Ruben Maturano....one "r". Are you referring to Ruben Maturano Ruiz?

No, this guy does not have ties to soccer. He just landed a job through connections. Even the commentators said something about having some sort of ties with Jose. A. Roca

His background is in physical education and american football.

How he got that job is probably the same way an assistant dean from the U.A.T. got to play one game against Club America---because of who they know.

he has coached Santos and Queretaro.

He coached Santos during the 89-90; 91-92 seasons and Queretaro during the 93-94. His coaching career is rather pathetic. Both seasons with Santos, he was in the last 3 of the table. He only lasted 4 games with Queretaro.

amazing how this guy got in

90 % of clubs youth systems around the country are ALL pathetic coaches who can get through being in first division.

Who do you expect that America,Chivas or CA have as a coach in their youth team in Guadalajara or in other cities?

Johann Cruyff?
Gus Hiddink?

Give me a break.
Let's not treat as a GOD the words of a commentator of GOL TV

Hiddink and Cryuff are not youth instructors so no one is expecting a high profile personality in charge of the youth systems. Most youth instructors are not in the spotlight. However, the good ones are well paid and valued by their clubs.

i actually looked into it myself. They are not lying. This cat really has no business in footie. His "coaching" gig in Santos was done as a favor because he had no previous experience in football (player, coach).

Sad.

There was some news a couple of months back on Cruz Azul wanting to restructure and hire a sport director to oversee all aspects of the club while Billy and Alfredo Alvarez would take a step back. Haven't read any news on this lately but you'd hope they would hurry up and get going on this.

cruyff? hiddink? maradona the next 'pele' of show-bol?

It is all sarcasm.

And a Joke.

Like a joke about how many of youth coaches teams around the couyntry from many clubs don't have a clue about football.

This is no joke. This is the sad reality of football in Mexico. No wonder there isn't much tecnical talented players developing out there.

Everybody is watching a dot in the picture ( thank's to Mr. GolTV commentator); but NOBODY is seeing the complete frame of the picture.
