I "might" be able to fly into NYC and then back out again on the 21st from Chicago. I have a two day layover and I'd really like to see the game...

Question: Is it easier to get to Giants Stadium from Newark or from LGA, and if so, how...?

Not looking to rent a car if possible, just trying to see if this is do-able,

Otherwise I guess I can stay in Chicago and watch the Revs and Fire beat each other into a bloody pulp.

You gotta come to the Swamp. Newark is a handful (three?) exits south on the turnpike. I think there's a train, but it'd be a quick cab ride.

Got a rough idea of the taxi fare...?

What's your airline, anyway?

The cab from Newark should be easy. I would guess $20.

Wish I could just catch the Barra Bus otta DC instead. But I cannot get into town early enough

Anyways, looks like many of the flights between ORD and EWR are pretty full (need an open seat to ride), so it looks like I'll be staying in Chicago, and catching the Fire/Revs instead :(

Oh well, at least I'm off for the 2nd match at RFK

Thanks anyways for the info.

Related question: Is there a sticky post somewhere on BigSoccer that spells out advice to visiting fans on how to get to each facility, where to stay/drink/eat...? That would be useful info.

You can get from LGA to the Meadowlands by bus. There's a regular bus that runs into The City from LGA...I always take the one to Grand Central, but there might be one to Port Authority. Anyways, if it's to Grand Central, you hop the subway or a crosstown bus (I believe they run on, um, 42nd St) to the Port Authority bus terminal, where NJ Transit runs a special gameday route to the Meadowlands. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I've never combined the two bus trips, but I've done them separately many times. The airport bus is something like $21 round trip ($11 or $12 one-way), and the Meadowlands bus is something like $10 round trip.

Yeah, but the only thing is that Newark is so close to the Meadowlands Sports Complex -- I'd guess about 15 to 20 minutes max (assuming there's no traffic backup) once you get out of the airport. I think that Newark really would be the way to go.

12 miles or so, all highway, 15-20 minutes if there's no backup, from Newark airport. The cabs up there, they'll charge 30$ though.
