Phil Bardsley's time at Rangers could be over after a bust-up in training with manager Paul Le Guen.

The incident between the on-loan Manchester United right-back and the Rangers boss took place during a Tuesday training session.

And BBC Sport understands that Bardsley will not now be travelling with Rangers in the morning for their Uefa Cup tie with Livorno on Thursday.

Rangers insist that Bardsley has not been sent back to Old Trafford.

The Glasgow club were not making further comment, although more could be disclosed when the first-team squad leave for Italy on Wednesday morning.

Bardsley, who came through the United youth ranks, has made 17 appearances for the English Premiership club, mainly as a substitute.

However, the 21-year-old spent loan spells at Royal Antwerp and Burnley before being farmed out to Rangers in the summer.

He has made five appearances under Le Guen and on Saturday was part of the side humbled at home by Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Premier League.

It now looks like he will lose his place at right-back to Alan Hutton for the Uefa Cup group tie against Livorno.

He could be on his way back

Would like to know what he did.

That being said, I'd like to play him again if Gary Neville continues to have these niggling injuries keep knocking him out for a spell. While we do have Wes Brown to play RB, playing Bardsley there would be developing the future of the club, while playing Brown there does not.

I think he made a hard tackle on one of their players for which he was sent home from their training ground

after that i think he failed to check-in the team hotel. I dont know if he did that on his own or because le guen told him not to come

yeah, but lets just say he'd get more experience at rangers than here..

He can't play for us until January anyway. If he comes back he's going to have to kick his heels for a few months.
It's not a good sign if he's losing his discipline like this.

I think Simpson is a better long-term bet for our RB but the more options we have the better.

Simpson is better in the long term but Bardsley can step in now and do a job.

Presumably all you folks going on about Simpson have seen him play extensively on MUTV in the last year?

And as for the future of the club, Wes Brown's only 27. That's nothing for a defender, he could play another 10 years for United.

Not likely as Wes has his physique as his greatest asset... that declines when you start to hit the 30's

Not only won't Wes be a prem level defender past 34, he's not a good RB and he wont last in that position for us in a permanent basis.

Guess we'll just have to review this thread in another 7 years then...

Foster didn't come through the youth system. We bought him last year. Rossi didn't really come through the youth system. We bought him in 2004.

Where in Rochester are you from?

In our current first team?

The following IMO. From 1st thru 8 as requested. We don't have 11 i'm afraid, unless we start talking about loans such as Rossi, Pique, Simpson, Martin...etc....

1.) Scholes
2.) Giggs
3.) Gazza
4.) Brown
5.) Fletch
6.) D.Jones
7.) Fletcher
8.) Richardson

Why two Fletchers?

Why no David Beckham?

Er, probably because Beckham doesn't play for United anymore?

Don't know why he picked 2 fletchers though. One's enough!

Actually, both Rossi & Pique count as youth system players. They both played for the U18's and the youth team. Admittedly they didn't play many games for the U18's because they were in moved into the reserves rather sharpish!
