View Full Version : Current Man Utd team is very poor

The current Man Utd team is very poor prepared to Chelsea, Arsenal and the other top teams in Europe. Especially in the midfield and attack.
Man Utd have two world class young player in Rooney and Ronaldo, but these two players are being made to carry the team. The players around them aren't good enough.
I believe the most important position on the field is the centre midfield. Man Utd have Carrick, Scholes, O'Shea and Fletcher. Carrick is an average player, he is a good passer and thats about it, games can pass where he is anonymous. Scholes is passed his best and its wrong to rely on him. O'Shea is terrible. Fletcher i think seems like a promising player when he is actually playing in his propper position but still has alot to prove.
This is were the problem is. Top class central midfielders must be bought.
I have heard that the reason we havent been able to get anyone of higher quality in is because of Chelsea but why have other top teams in Europe been able to assemble very good midfields.
I really dont know what Ferguson is doing. But then i've always questioned his buys. He very rarely ever gets it right. And doubt he will be able to get top quality centre midfielders in.
Some of the players he has arent worth paying their wages.
Ruud should never have been sold. Ferguson should be receiving alot of stick about this but he isn't.
I would like to see Ferguson leave. I cant stand the site of him smiling on the bench any more. He isn't going to win anything.
With a squad of great players Ferguson is able to produce great teams but now that we dont have great players Ferguson lacks the skill that managers such as Wenger have to get top quality players in. Put Ferguson in charge of Real Madrid and they would be an unbelievable team.
Do the right thing Ferguson, leave, dont tranish your name any more.
I dont right these things because we aren't winning the premier league and/or the champions league, i write it because of the state of the current squad, how the team is playing and the management.

I added a part:

Is this not true?
And how can you deny that the current central midfield is world class?

Actually, the poster has a point. We can't just get into the mindset that if we're on top of the league domestically and in Europe, our team is in fine shape. Do we care about the team now or in the long run, I for one care about the latter. Ferguson is squeezing everything he can out of the team to get any kind of success now , at the cost of securing a future.
Our midfield is still dire and we don't have a proper #9. Against quality opposition this will show. Already we've lost against Arsenal at home because they simply won every midfield battle and the same will happen against the rest of the quality teams this season.
I don't want to sound over-pessimistic, and I'm content we're doing well now but I'm more concerned about the future, and it doesn't look bright despite our current standings.

It's a good thing you support Spurs then isn't it?Maybe it will be in about 5 years. (though i do support Man Utd too)
i don't right what you write because its poor, i do it because its wrong. Man U are currently top of both tables IIRC.CL groups are easy to get out of.
Man Utd wont be top of the prem for long. One they pick up a few more injuries and Chelsea hit top form.

It's fair to say that the mix in midfield is not quite right. Fergie has admitted it himself, why else would have he tried so hard to get Hargreaves or Senna?
We know that Saha is not the perfect striker but getting a new Shevchenko is not so easy (Chelsea have not had the real Shevchenko performing yet). Hopefully Ole can chip in with enough goals to allow for Saha's inconsistency.
To sum the situation up as the "Current Man Utd team is very poor" is ridiculous though.
The midfied issue will probably mean United won't be winning the CL this year but if they can buy someone in January they might yet fix it enough to have a real shot at the league.

Chealsea are the injured ones and i believe Man U are hitting their form. Didn't man u have players just return from injury...unless this rio and giggs CL game changed it all.

Actually, the poster has a point.
Yes, he has one point, about the questionable quality in central midfield. One that's been reiterated over and over and over in this forum. The rest of his post is basically crap though, including but not limited to his comments on Rooney and Ronaldo being our only good players, Carrick being average, and SAF not knowing how to buy players. Why would anyone take him seriously?

Right, which is why I've only highlighted what I thought was valid. I don't agree with the rest.
