Jaime Moreno played 2700 minutes this season, which beats his previous record, set in 1998, by 90.
And ya know, I'm not real sure how to feel about that.

Not a good thing...I was hoping he'd get a few halves off, but our terrible form and Esky's fondness for injury pretty much ruled that out.

No - He still shoulda been rested a game here and there in July and early September

This may be a bit harsh, but of those 2700 minutes I'd say maybe about 1500 were actually "effective" minutes. The rest were him walking around conserving energy.

Sad to see Jaime playing a record amount of minutes this season. Question is as it was last year, will he be able to play balls to the wall for most of a game during the playoffs? He had a great start to the year and has faded away. His last goal was a sitter that Ben gave him. I am afraid he doesn't have the legs to go 65 at this point. And we really are missing those moments of brilliance the second half of the season.

I agree. It's hard for me to wrap my brain around him playing more minutes than any other season when he didn't look his healthiest of any season. DCU seemed to take its collective foot off the gas in every other manner once we had a big lead, but not the one that might have actually helped something come playoff time.

I think in past seasons Jaime has had had more injuries or international callups that prevented him from playing a full season.
We haven't had any extra (midweek) games in over a month AND Jaime got some time at the beauty spa - so Jaime should be fine (meaning pretty damn good) for the playoffs. We've had injuries at forward and a S2J2 absence that may have led Nowak to play Jaime a bit more than he would have preferred. And Jaime may have been coasting a bit in the last 2 games as we've had home field playoff advantage clinched.
But I'm expecting Jaime to show the same form he had earlier this season. He can become the first MLS player to win 5 championships with the same team.
One for the thumb, Jaime!

While I would love for Jaime to get a 5th ring this year, I think the talk of him getting 'rested' because he spent a day at a spa is way overblown.
The sort of fatigue he is experiencing wont be cured by a few days off. Nowak needs to limit him to 30-45 minutes per game to get maximum effectiveness. Otherwise he will trot this team into an early exit from the playoffs.
