You know, that, you know, was pretty accurate, you know, except, you know, Seol would, you know, have used, you know, more you knows.;)
May I just note, as an aside, how impressed I've been by the Seol injury crisis, which wasn't a big enough deal to even make the club website, BBC or Sky, from what I could find. I'm guessing this is korean media coverage of Reading? If so, that is very, very cool. Intensive coverage that doesn't involved someone's bashed head.
Question, a guy2die4 (or anyone with current ties to korea) are Reading shirts cropping up on the streets there?
lol yes, it pains me to watch his interviews with all the y'knows.
the above article, the link for which is broken, is indeed a Korean tabloid/sports newspaper article. TV sports news progs (terrestrial or cable) and other broadsheets have not reported anything on this.
and let me make it clear to Reading fans once more, the above skit was not to cast doubt on Coppell, but rather rather to make fun of Seol's speech habit and the fact he is one of those types who is not over-expressive, sturdy and not likely to make a fuss over anything. Seol's image in Korea is that of a hardy soldier who would march with a broken leg. Although he does throw jokes around in Korean, its pretty rare and he is not known to elaborate on anything even in Korean. I was merely trying to point out that Seol would probably not elaborate much on how much he is hurt,(which may make the managers job that more difficult) and that he probably want to play no matter what.
of course i do appreciate the current situation at Reading post Chelsea match, with the Mourinho unfounded accusations and media's coverage of it all and the resultant sensitivity. Hell some poeple are saying start Hunt ahead of Convey, although a fit Convey may be the better option against a pacey Arsenal, just to show that Reading and Coppell are behind Hunt 100%. And i also know and share, how Reading fans are proud of Coppell of the way he dealt with the whole situation in stark contrast to Mourinho.
As for Reading shirts, im afraid club football shirt buying is not a big thing in Korea. Never has been, even during last seaosn with Park Ji-Sung@ManU or Lee Young-Pyo@Spurs, or the previous season@PSV. There is simply no market for it. Sure there are plenty of KNT supporters shirt (all those red shirts you see on TV) but club shirts? Only person i know who has one is a ten year old kid and his 8yr old brother who bought a Park ManU and Lee Spurs shirts when they went to England on holiday last year.
However televsion broadcasting rights should be a good source of income for Reading. And broadcasters do seem to send a TV sports news crew often to EPL so that they can have a short 'filler' report whenever, any of the Korean EPL players do well; one way for TV stations to get their moneys worth. Plus people here, like most people anywhere, have a soft spot for the underdog or a possible cinderella story, and Reading fits that description pretty well.
