Tough game again for you guys. Good luck.
I hope Seol will not dissapoint again :D
Seol clearly needed a week off last week. In hindsight, should have started little. I'm hoping he's gotten some rest.
I remember how Arsenal took Reading apart last year in the carling cup (or was that FA? I think carling, but I'm often wrong). They were really fast, flowing, creative, well, what they are.
I will add that anyone on this board who isn't aware of two day old CL results must be trying, but by now, it has to be fair game to discuss the relevance of a poor arsenal showing, combined with the most travel there is in the CL, on the game this weekend.

Seol has a reported ankle/ligament injury. He has missed two days of training. Questionable for Sunday, sadly.

Are we going to get to see De La Cruz since Bikey will miss the match?

I think he's all we have left, isn't he?

Mate could always come out on crutches, but I suppose there's some kind of law against that. ;)

If Seol is hurt at all just start Little. He played well against Chelsea and I don't want Seol to keep playing at less than 100%. Let him get fit so he's ready for Pompey.

If Seol is hurt, then this is about a worst case scenario game for Reading. Not that little can't come on, but look at the bench for this one.
Convey is not fully fit, according to coppell yesterday. Murty is out for a while longer. Kitson is out for bunch longer. Bikey is suspended.
Reading simply aren't deep enough to be this injured.
Right now, it looks like the starting lineup could be
MH
DLcruz Sonko Inga Shorey
Little Harper Sids Hunt
Doyle Lita
I'm not terrified of playing with that lineup, though it worries me to do so against Arsenal, whom I do believe are our worst matchup. Our pace on the right look really scary for this match, and Hunt's annoying pest routine doesn't seem like a perfect fit for their swift movement, I'd much rather have convey, who's not as annoying but is more of a threat, IMO. The cup game last year exposed issues in our second unit against a lot of these young arse players.
But our problem is really on the bench, we have gunnarsson, Halls, Oster (who wants to be loaned out) and Long with stack. We really don't have the ability to make a positive change, do we? (unless convey is on the bench, unable to play a full match, but good for 20 minutes).
Just don't like this at all.

I agree, this is not a good matchup.

On the other hand, Arsenal may make a few adjustments in their line-up as a result of Tuesday's loss to CSKA.
I think Henry needs a rest after arguing with the ref over the disallowed goal. :D

hot off the press. Seol to play in Reading - Arsenal match (H)
----------------------------------------------------------
Key points of the article translated:
----------------------------------------------------------
Seol rested from practice and received treatment on 17th,18th and 19th. Doctors reports bruising of the bone and ligament injury of the right ankle.
But he showed improvement on the 20th, and took part in the morning practice under the watchful eye of the team doctor. Post practice he had a chat with Coppel and it was decided that he will play on Sunday.
Although he did not experience any particular pain during morning practice, he is still in danger of aggravating his ankle injury and there is the risk of it becoming more serious. However in view of the importance of the match and Seol's own importance to the team and for the club it was decided he will play.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
well good luck to Seol if he does indeed play. And good luck to Reading no matter what. :)
if he does play despite the risk, its portrays typical Korean work ethic and commitment. but if in injures himself even more, i reserve the right to call him a dumbass.
im hazarding a guess as to the kind of conversation btw Coppel and Seol as follows:
Coppel: hows your ankle Seol? Reckon you can play?
Seol: guess its better boss, you know
Coppel: well, we could really use you, and the doc says that if you say you can play then you can play
Seol: well you know me boss, i want to play always, you know.
Coppel: good lad, well i put you on the list and we shall see, yes?
Seol: alright boss, you the boss. you know.

Cute, but since Coppell's career was cut short due to injury, I have a hard time believing he'd pressure anyone into playing if they were not 100%.

yes, know about Coppels injury and also know about his style of management so no need to protect his reputation.
i was infact poking fun more on Seol than Coppel. read it again and you will see.

You know, that, you know, was pretty accurate, you know, except, you know, Seol would, you know, have used, you know, more you knows.;)
May I just note, as an aside, how impressed I've been by the Seol injury crisis, which wasn't a big enough deal to even make the club website, BBC or Sky, from what I could find. I'm guessing this is korean media coverage of Reading? If so, that is very, very cool. Intensive coverage that doesn't involved someone's bashed head.
Question, a guy2die4 (or anyone with current ties to korea) are Reading shirts cropping up on the streets there?

there always seems to be at least one Korean film crew filming around the stadium on match days.

Strange, it now reads:
I can see this being a decent game if Reading's previous home matches are anything to go by. I suppose Arsenal could be a little leggy after a long trip in midweek and Steve Coppell will demand a fast start, but I can see the visitors riding that storm before stamping their authority on the game. It should be very, very watchable, but with four wins on the spin, I think Arsenal are looking good again. I'll go for 2-0.

i must have read that wrong... oh well. hopefully the fast start nets a goal or two by doyle and seol and reading get the win.
