With the Premiership now almost past the quarter mark - who do you think will be the first EPL manager to be sacked this season? Last season there were two obvious candidates; Alain Perrin and Graeme Souness. This season however the choices are not so obvious. Of the struggling teams, most of the managers have either just been appointed or are still held in high regard by their fans after good previous seasons.

Looking at current form - Alan Pardew is the obvious choice. However, a quick turn around of results could change that considering what he did for the club last year. Ditto to Paul Jewell, Neil Warnock, and Aidy Boothroyd (the latter two are only expected to save their teams from relegation anyway).

The pressure must be mounting on Charlton's Ian Dowie. However, he was only hired a couple of months ago so he may get more time. Glen Roeder and Gareth southgate are also both in their first full seasons in charge of their respective clubs. A continual poor run of form however, and you never know.

So anyhoo - go ahead and vote - who do you think will be the first manager to get the sack this season. I would like to keep this an ongoing season long thread so after the first manager has been sacked - we can still vote/discuss who the next manager to be sacked is....

Sadly, unless some balls start finding the back of the net, I'm afraid it'll be Pards. It's been over a month now since we've scored a goal. September 10th was a long, long time ago.
I think Boothroyd is safe. Watford has been playing their hearts out.

Southgate's 12 week exemption for not having the requisite badges runs out shortly. Unless Boro come to an agreement with the Premier League then he will most likely be the next to leave his post.

I note the term "leave his post." I expect that he won't be sacked, but will be given another job within the organization until he completes the requisite coaching badges.

I'd be willing to bet that something will get worked out if Southgate is on track to get his badges in a normal amount of time.

As for getting fired straight out, Alan Pardew has dug too deep a hole for himself. He's a couple of games from getting the axe. Ian Dowie is also getting pretty close. The way Watford are playing, Aidy Boothroyd could probably pick up a handful of wins all season and I doubt he would get fired. Watford have the talent of a mid-table Championship side. Even with a crap record, they are overperforming.

Glenn Roader since he's coming under pressure from some Newcastle fans.

I think Pardew will be ok, they'll be back in the midtable area soon and the pressure will ease off him.

Boothroyd is bulletproof. Watford weren't even expecting to finish in the top half of the Championship, let alone get promoted.

Roeder is on borrowed time. That club must be cursed, all that money and they can't do anything with it. Any manager they get, it all goes wrong. Except when they get a decent one, they sack him anyway.

Dowie could be sacked, as could Pardew. I think Pardew will be given more time after what he did last season.

The only time Warnock will be sacked is if they're relegated. They don't look like doing that so far. Same for Jewell.

warnock could never be sacked. they could get rel'd to league2 and he would be safe.

we spent too much money on pards to let him go now. i think he will be given more time.

im voting for dowie right now... he looks most under fire

And, I got something in my inbox that said Charlton is going to review his performance after the next two games.

Whp are Charlton going to get if they sack Dowie? I highly dount Curbishley will be going back to Charlton (though stranger things have hapenned). They won't go foreign, and there arent any decent British managers out there, maybe someone like Mike Newell, but can't think of many. I think they will stick with Dowie until he either gets them out of trouble, or when it is too late for a new manager to have an impact. LOL if they get Sven though.

Any reliable sources tied to this statement?

And which Premiership managers are available?

Souness? Please no.
Robson? Is he any better than Dowie?
Sven? Now that's a laugh.
Others?

Stuart Pearce is in big trouble now. 4 0 to Wigan is humiliation. AND he is a better manager than McClaren, British managers are actually getting worse imo.

AND he is a better manager than McClaren,

How do you work that out? What has Pearce actually achieved as a manager? His record is pretty poor.

I just think they are both tactically useless, but at least Pearce can gee a team up, the only thing mcclown has ever inspired is hatred towards himself.
