How does one bend the ball to any corner of the goal from a free kick in Winning Eleven 9? I played against someone online who was able to do this with Beckham who i thought could only bend it near post in the game. How does one do this?

It's hard as hell.
First off: you need a guy with high skill in curve and free-kick accuracy. I wouldn't bother with anybody under a 90.
Second: don't bother to attempt an outer-spin. At best, I've gotten a slight bend; usually, the ball goes straight.
Now, as you align the kick, try to aim between two guys in the wall. The effect of the curve typically doesn't start until after it passes the wall.
The tricky part is when to apply the curve. I do it as soon as the screen switches from the free-kick view to the normal side-to-side game view...basically when the player begins his run-up to strike the ball. Press either left or right on the d-pad, and press it all the way (you can't finesse the free-kick to put a slight bend on it -- it's all or nothing.) If you need more time on the bend, hold R2 (I'm on the PS2) to make it more of a floating free-kick.
I hope this helps, and I hope the next version makes these a little easier!
