I don't think MLS could have drummed up anything better ratings-wise. The most recognizable coach vs the most recognizable team. Maybe LA vs Chivas could have been good challenged this match up. Besides the ratings though, I think this is a pretty good matchup for DCU. We get a team who's goal was just to make the playoffs. They did that. Just got to hope that we return to early-mid season form.

Considering the two PKs awarded NY in the match - and the highly questionable nature of the second one - you've summarized what many KC fans are undoubtedly saying on their board :)

I"m always leery of talking about who you want to face in the playoffs b/c you can end up eating those words so easily. That said...

I'm glad we're facing TFKAM. Here's why...

1. Talent-wise, I don't think they're as good as KC. I don't think they're as organized as KC.
2. In their hearts, we've owned them for most of the past 3 years. If we get an early goal, they can't help but start thinking about that. Which means out of all of the Eastern playoff teams, the side we have the best chance of just exploding against and having a match that has the lads happy, relaxed, in-form and talking about who scored the prettiest goal...would be TFKAM. Not that such a result is a lock--it isn't. But I couldn't see us going to KC and winning 3-0 or 4-1. Ditto with Chicago or NE (not that we could have faced them). TFKAM may bunker, foul like crazy, take a lot of dives to steal a PK but it's also likely we could just wipe the field with them. And that kind of result would get us feeling good, looking pretty and roaming wild on the field--playing with the kind of aggression and predation we had earlier in the season.
3. It's never a bad thing to beat TFKAM.
