Hey folks... I'm a newbie as far as the MU board goes, but I've been a fan for a couple of years now and have a trip planned next month to see the home fixtures v Chelsea and Everton. I'm concerned about how I may get tickets for the Chelsea game. I have already signed up with the club membership for me and my g/f that's going. Will the ticket application start at 12:00 am UK time and what the actual chances of getting tickets through the club? I have discovered the Ticket Exchange... What would be the best section of the stadium where people won't be sitting on their hands with mouths shut? Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'm really looking forward to my first trip to the UK!

If you don't get tickets via One United, you could try www.manutd.com/ticketexchange

**** The Chelsea fixture is going to be a tough time to get a tickets ****

you want to try and get tickets for either the west or the east stand

Personally I think the Stretford End is the place to be (West Stand). I'm in West Upper (W202 and on the letter "O" where it says Stretford End on the seats). It's quite noisy there although to be fair alot of that is down to Stretty tier 2 (W3 on the stadium plan) who start alot of songs before they trickle downwards.

Avoid the South Stand at all costs.

North isn't too bad nor is East although East did seem to be drowned out a little by the away fans at the most recent game against Newcastle. I'd still probably put it marginally ahead of North although there's not much in it.

Yea I was never a fan of the South stand either (thats where all the rich people who commute from London every weekend sit), Stretford End is where the passion still lies. If you wanna be where people start songs other than chanting United! - United! go there! And not that I advise this but there are always people selling outside the stadium (but Chelsea tickets will be well expensive)

thank you all very much for the info! That was exactly what I needed! What would be on my short list of things to do at OT and where should I go pre-game?

Either the The Bishop Blaize or The Trafford Pub just to name a few ...if you go to the Blaize make sure you look for Sir Peter Boyle :D :D

I have same questions really - what is opinion of upper north east stand? particularly the view and the crowd atmosphere - never been there either! coming from LA used to the Galaxy crowd - no chanting - no wave - just lots of people who dont know game rules!

To be honest I never heard much from the stretford either lol, our end concentrates more on just taunting the away fans, like shouting stuff across. North ans south are crap, sat in both, nothin on the other 2.

I'll keep my eye on the letter "O". I'll be home that weekend, or close enough... Birmingham (sic), as its my Wife's parents 50th anniversary the day before the Chelsea match. And my wife just told me her brother got us tickets. :)

You can look all you like but you won't be seeing me. I didn't renew.

Hope you have a great time. :)

Heading over in a few weeks for the Wigan game. First time there since 96. Also going to livershyte-Spurs the next day as my brother who is accompanying me is a dippers fan. Would it be risky for me to wear my Keane-16 shirt to anfield?

My friend was able to get a ticket last season to the game against Chelsea about 5 minutes after the start of the first half just above the face value. Generally, the way it works is that the price starts out ridiculously high couple of hours before kickoff, and then by the time the game starts if there are any people left with tix, the price drops dramatically, since they need to get rid of them...

Not sure about the atmosphere tbh, nor quite sure where you mean. If it's N2401 or N2402 on here (http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=%7BCF7C77A4-0F8D-45BA-9561-EDFC1F9F2A13%7D) (which is where I think you mean?) then the view's a good 'un imo.

Went in there a couple of times as a kid when it was known as 'J stand' (just in front of the old scoreboard). Also been at the same level/height in each of the corresponding corners in the past at one time or another and although it's down to personal preference in the end, I've always quite liked that 'corner view'.

Taking nothing else into consideration, it's probably my favourite angle to watch a match from as the pitch sort of opens up from there. Does that make sense? I'd put it above the half way line anyway, which is supposedly the best if we're going purely on the view.

Edit: Just noticed you can click on the various sections on that seating plan thing to give you an idea of the view from there.

If I were you young man, I WOULD NOT wear anything at all that has any kind of link with Manchester United. Anfield is a very dodgy best place and anything Manchester United is seen with pure hatred. My advice is stay away from the place altogether.

Just dont bother going to Liverpool mate , Stay in Manchester and have a walk round the place or go shopping. Save you having to listen to that phlegmy accent and get covered in spit LA LA

A seats a Seat really , dont matter as long as your in the ground , Best Seats in the house are Stretty end Tier 2 and Lower K-Stand .

East stand tier 2 is pretty shite to be honest but its different with different games , Chelseas gonna be good no matter what , Especially as the reds knock 2 past Petr Helmet in first 10 minutes! On Saying that avoid the south stand if possible unless its near the Cockneys
