TB,
Always glad to help a fellow Spur out, son. The link below helped greatly for a hardcore Spurs fan I know from down the pub, hope it does for you 'n all. I personally would never do anything myself that would even hint of trying to bypass rights and official methods, but there's nothing wrong with me telling you about my mate's experiences or referring you to a legal site.
He did his nut when they blocked the free direct Sentanta streams recently - apparently ITVN made it invalid without password, to try to force people to sign up to their convoluted clunky system of trying to convert an online net feed to your TV set.
He PREFERS to watch on computer, the screen looks great and the sound plugged into his stereo sounded awesome he told me. For the streamed Liverpool vs Spurs match he said it was like he was in with the Spurs mob at the Anfield Road end outsinging the scousers!
He said he stocked up with brews and researched getting a P2P system downloaded and ready to rock.
This is the site he mentioned:
my p2p (http://www.myp2p.eu/)
He went with PPstream and for the last few days he said he watched several (Chinese I think) football channels, which have shown, among other things, the England games, a France Euro qualifier, and a Premier goals highlights show, the latter in English.
Apparently other channels bombard you with US wrestling and basketball which most footie fans are not interested in but it's all there in volume, in Chinese and English.
He reckons one of those channels on the menu of far Eastern stations will be carrying the Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur live game this weekend. This info is apparently given out on Fridays.
Even though there's nothing naughty about the site link I gave you, or visiting it, make sure that actually viewing the streams is not breaking any rules in your constituency.
I play by the rules and so I will nip down the pub and catch it there, plus it's fun coz you usually get some unsuspecting gooner come in not realizing that the fans of all the other teams playing at the same time will summarily dispatch him thru the now traditional plate glass window - the times that sucker's been repaired.
Every year we are expected to shell out more and more dosh for ever more convoluted and unreliable ways, not available to all fans, to get to see the working people's beloved sport of English league footie, it doesn't surprise me that people are looking for alternatives.
Plus with p2p, the more people who watch, the better each person's reception is. Contrast that with the official system where the more people who subscribe the worse the buffering gets. Socialism in action I suppose.
Enjoy the game on the weekend and stay legal and healthy. Come on you luvverly Lillywhite and Navy Blooz - beat the Villa!
