I know there was a thread on this in the old tech forum, but I thought I'd start a new one here. I have a question for any 3 owners about tires.
I have the 3s sedan with the 17" rims. The factory tires, which sucked, are about dead. Anyone have any recommendations on a good tire with good snow traction? I'm not sure whether to get dedicated snow tires or not.
Thanks. Q

www.tire-rack.com has lots of reviews - both tire and car specific.

Thanks. I ended up getting Nokian WR All-Weathers. They did well in the snow/rain we got last night. Q

I've got about 25K on my 2006 3s with 17s... let me know what you think of those badboys... and if you have pics... let me see! I assume I won't need tires for at least a year still...

I got mine replaced at 27K, so you may need them earlier than you think. The Nokians aren't the prettiest tire for sure. We had a dusting of snow today, and I didn't have any problems. We might get a few more inches in the next couple of days, so I might have more to report then. Q

Are there any issues I should be aware of when replacing the tires on my m3? mine has the tire pressure sensors.

My 3 survived a major blizzard last week. I was stuck at work until the first 12" fell, and made it home without any major sliding issues. This would not have been possible with the factory tires last year, so I would give the Nokians a high grade in terms of snow traction.

I don't have that option, so I'm not sure. Q
