Finnan just participated in a horrible loss for Ireland.
I am ashamed and pissed off.

This is arguably the most embarassing performance in Irish football history.
This says it all.

It was as bad as a game gets. Andy O'Brien was complete crap and Dunne, while he scored, also gave two away. And perhaps now people will fully realize how important Shay Given is to Ireland. Finnan wasnt to blame.
Steven Gerrard was the best player for England by a mile. Crouch was second best. The ManUre lot stunk up the joint and the Chelski's were no better, except Short Shite Phillips brought a bit of fight into the match late.

ROFLMAO - No-one would EVER be able to work out who you support after that utterly laughably inaccurate analysis.

To be honest I though Gerrard was a bit dissapointing. He constantly drifted deep inside, and as a result England had no width on the right...Mclaren should play him in the middle. Even if Gerrard and Lampard aren't the best partnership. Crouch was working hard all game and had a few good chances.
Kuyt isn't playing for Holland for some reason. Just saw a shot of him on the bench, didn't hear the explanation (he was supposed to start I think). Xabi Alonso on the bench for Spain, Luis Garcia came on around the 60 minute mark.

Thought the whole Englang team was collectively awful, to be quite honest. Crouch was the best England on show tonight followed by King but that only because they were sorrounded by gormless wonders. Gerrard only shone in flashes and was only marginally better than the other midfilders because he could actually pass to a player in white and, once, actually threatened a goal. The rest of the team was absolute rubbish and that is being fair to them.

First of all Neville was supposed to get forward on the right but did nothing. Second, Downing was crap on the left so Cole couldn't get forward. Carrick was largely invisible as was Lampard. In the end, Gerrard was reduced to his mode for Liverpool over the previous few years. Run all over and hope to create something. In the end, with the help of Phillips, he almost did. Crouch also put himself about well and I think he was unlucky not to have scored. But seriously, who else? Terry and King did what was needed against a team that never could put sustained pressure on England's back line. And I am certain I'm not simple seeing this game through Red tinted glasses.

He went off injured after 15 minutes. An ankle injury some reports say. Couldn't find anything more about the type, extent or seriousness of the injury.

Yeah, heard it wasn't good.
On a brighter note, that Agger kid looked good for Denmark!

It's apparently pretty serious as he was sent home.

Alonso, Garcia and Reina all started on the bench for Spain. Only Garcia played, coming on for Angulo after the hour mark. By all accounts, the wheels are slowly coming off the Spain wagon. Another reverse, this time a 2-0 reverse in Sweden and the old fissures are starting to show. A dressing room brimming with prodigious talent and clueless coach-- all sounds rather familiar.

As I understand it, the injury is an ankle twist and not that serious-- he just won't make the Wednesday match.

I wasn't going to respond to this trolling, until I finally watched the match yesterday. If he would pick himself up off of the floor he is rolling around on and watch the game again, I think he'd find that far from being "utterly laughably inaccurate", Liverbird's assessment was a fair one.
They were two out of the too few players with any sort of drive, on a frustrating night with an anemic looking England team playing against a well organised Macedonian side. This has nothing to do with who we support.
If a player's performance is disappointing (or impressive), then we'll call it for what it is - regardless of who they play for.
Here's my analysis: It's Lampard who has something to prove (let's hope it happens tonight). Why don't you take your tongue out of Frank and get over it? SG is a Liverpool player, "...he scores from 40 yards, he's better than Frank Lampard..." ;)

The Chelsea chaps have been rather touchy of late, I must admit. Any time Lampard is mentioned, they inevitably talk of Gerrard. I also thought of the midfield four, Gerrard was the pick of the bunch in trying to get things done, which in all honest didn't take much doing. But MacLaren clearly hasn't understood that when Benitez allows Gerrard to roam Alonso or Sissoko cover for him. On Saturday, when Gerrard wandered (as MacLaren must have told him to), the right flank was left as exposed as prostitute in an Amsterdam window.
On the proposed 3-5-2 formation, I wonder if the same mistakes are not going to be repeated. Is this change to correct detected deficiencies or for change' sake? Of the back three-- and only Carragher has successfully played in a back three before-- who gets to pick the runner? If Croatia plays a-man-in-the-hole (as Macedonia did), what happens to him?

Wow.

Nothing like the Euro 2004 matchup......
