I think that some of my friends said that Emirates stadium has adverts promoting tourism to Israel all over the stadium.

Yeah. There are signs for EILAT. The reason there were a few problems were that they delayed the launch of the advertising promotion because of the Israel-Lebanon war. They only started putting the signs up in the last couple of weeks. They look really good though and it's nice that Arsenal's best player Thierry Henry isn't afraid of Israel. I remember when France went to Israel, he was one of the few players saying he was happy to go.

Henry has been and always will be pure class. That is awesome that Arsenal supports the travel to Israel, they could have easily said no because of the "Fly Emirates" sponsorship.

I was just informed in the last few days. The 2 major shareholders of Arsenal FC are Jews and the Chief Rabbi of England is big Arsenal supporter.

Some Muslims in the UK have launched a Boycott Arsenal campaign. Thinkisrael.com appeared every Home match last season. But many muslims questioned why Fly Emirates didn't block the move. Arsenal also was not first choice to recieve the sponsorship. It had been offered to other clubs including AC Milan who bluntly pulled out of it last minute. Chelsea was not offered, due to its Anti-Semitic history with fans. Likely the Spurs revilary, where the Chelsea fans called them Yids. Now Chelsea propbably is one of the better clubs to go with Israel in mind due to the owner and Football Director

The Spurs fans call themselves Yids, it was started as a derogatory term because of the closeness to Golders Green in north London meant that Spurs had a lot of jewish fans at games.
In those days Spurs gained the title 'Yids` simply because of the weight of Jewish support. Today we identify with some of those blokes who at that time were regarded as second-class citizens and occasionally vilified by nutters. Perhaps that`s the root of it. But when I get into White Hart Lane (if I can afford it!) I am a Yid and will always be.
