this will be a kind of classico for me, the "mariposa" crowd is huge up here, its like all the people from morelia + other cities michoacanos jumped on a camion and decided ta move here... wonder if there are any of them left back there... and well we all know the monumentous following Chivas has. this is a must win if i am to show my face around here ever again(for a week)...

Another must win for Chivas...they need to get at least 10 points in the last 6 jornados to make the liguillla...

As one of the few Morelia supporters here, I feel Morelia will take this game.
Chivas are coming into this game over confident because they beat America, but they didn't played great.Morelia must take advantage of that.
I think it is a must win for both teams, but Morelia should win we, play better at home.

Morelia hasn't played great all season...what makes you think they're going to have a great game against Chivas??/

And another thing, "commitment," there will be no overly confident attitude, beating wilas is a boost, yes, but it doesnt mean that Chivas will consider this season 'mission accomplished.' the team knows that even though the butterfly gang is sucking it up(not winning + not playing well) Chivas has had a tough season as well (playing well at times, deserving more, but sadly falling short). everyone here knows the importance of all games from now on. if we dont take every one of them seriously, it means we are letting the liguilla go. chepo has already stressed this fact out, so the team will go to morelia with every intention of winning , not to see if the michoacanos will lose another...
plus, these teams have history, games turn out dramatic and passion-filled, so drop the "underdog/underestimating" us theory.

should be a good game

Chivas should win this game, they are a better team than Morelia. But then again, that was the same for Tecos and they ended up losing that game. Knowing that, im sure they will go in not underestimating Morelia because they are having a poor apertura.

Morelia hasn't won with el Fantasma as coach yet, thats why i believe that they are underdogs.Your right when you say that the games are dramatic.
Hope we see a good game.
2-1 MORELIA Wins:D

Also, there will be no Bravo for this game due to accumulation of yellow cards.
I'm assuming Santana will get the start.
All the games from here on out are extremely important. I hope the momentum from beating the hated ones last week carries on into this game. The remaining part of the schedule consists of teams we SHOULD beat. So, no excuses and lets make that push toward the liguilla.

Ive seen most of the Chivas' game this apertura (with the exceptions being their games against Santos, Queretaro, and Monterrey) and this was the worst i have seen them. Losing happens, but to do so with no rythmn (how many legit chances did they have of scoring?) and a lack of urgency or desire to play is unacceptable. I didnt see a squad that wants to continue its season out there. Bofo needs to stop flopping, im not proud of any goals that come that way. Im thinking a replacement for Morales needs to start getting minutes, hes not as consistent as he used to be, and its hurting the team. I feel for the Chivas fans that showed up at the stadium, they deserve a refund and apology because that wasnt the Guadalajara Chivas that they love on the field.
Chepo needs to be fired too.

A shameful performance by our team today. We lost the game because our defense was not concentrated and we created only one or two goal opportunities. I am very suprised by the poor production of good football against Morelia. As Banner and Hulk said, our team defrauded the very large contingent of chivistas who went to the game to see good football and a win for their beloved team.
Oswaldo did a very good job in deflecting two shots on goal but was not able to stop the first goal. Our defense had a lackluster performance. As devilman mentioned, Reynoso was guilty in allowing Gabriel Rey to escape and shoot inside the box. Ramon Morales was non-existent. What happened to him? He should of been inspired and should of played the best football since he is from Michoacan. Diego's advance in the right flank was ineffective. Our defensive midfield did not play a bad game. I am glad I did not see el Chato in the starting lineup but later in the game Chepo placed him on the field to replace Ramon! This was a terrible mistake. This decision shut our hopes of seeing any advance on the left flank. Bofo's two goals gave us hope but sadly it was not enough to win the game. Medina had a good game. Unlike the TV Azteca commentators, I do consider the penalty to be legitimate and not a mistake from the referee. The Monarcas player hits Medina before he touches the ball. I do not understand Chepo's insistence of placing Santana in the offensive midfield position. Santana is a striker not a creative midfielder! Chepo weakens our offense by placing this good player in a unnatural position. I was glad to see el "Chicharito" on the field.
There are only 15 more points left in this tournament. Our Chivas needs at least 10 more points to almost guarantee a place in the finals. We cannot afford any more weak performances. Time is running out. Nonetheless, I am still positive and hopeful.

Although it should be expected, the Azteca commentators were a bit over the top in their praise for Monarcas...and one of those guys was livid about the Medina penalty, which in my opinion, could have gone either way. I think it was a good call, it was clear that Medina didn't make an attempt to dive.

I'm tired of this shyte , we win one, we lose one we tie one, it's time for the team to play the same way they play the big games.... Where was the chivas that played against america?, they underestimated morelia and we lost...... some players don't play with passion anymore
morales days as a player are over
chato sucks
Reynoso needs to be replace
sol needs to be playing...
Banner or Hulk?
08 Oct 2006, 08:12 PM
I dont know if Sol is the missing piece. His heart and passion are unmatched, but thats not enough to make up for his age. I would love see more Primera A guys given a shot (if they brought the guy up for the America game, why not bring him along to Morelia seeing how they would be minus Bravos services?) especially given how they stepped it up when some guys left. After this game, im almost certain Chivas wont make the liguilla. With the exception being Tigres, every other team left on the schedule (Atlas, Veracruz, San Luis, Chiapas) has a legit shot of making it in. Chivas are in 12th place now, and they dont have much time to set it right. Given how they have played through 12 weeks, i find it hard to imagine them getting 10 points in their next five matches.
