2. Hamburger SV 2225
3. SV Werder Bremen 2219
4. VfB Stuttgart 2103
5. 1. FC K'lautern 2025
6. Borussia M'gladbach 2007
7. Borussia Dortmund 2002
8. 1. FC Köln 1989
9. Eintracht Frankfurt 1789
10. FC Schalke 04 1778
11. Bayer Leverkusen 1397
12. VfL Bochum 1232
13. Hertha BSC Berlin 1176
14. MSV Duisburg 1118
15. 1. FC Nürnberg 1040
16. Fortuna Düsseldorf 920
17. TSV 1860 München 884
18. Karlsruher SC 881
19. Eintracht Braunschweig 878
20. Hannover 96 696

(bold: teams, that play currently in the BL)

This year not only the actual BL season is exciting,
but also the ethernal table (points collected in the BL since 1963/64).

Can Werder kick the HSV from rank 2 to proove again,
that they are the no.1 in the North?
Lautern will surely lost two ranks to the Borussias,
but who is the better Borussia? Only 5 points between Gladbach and Dortmund.
Can Eintracht Frankfurt defend rank 9 against Schalke?

For the first 20 years, 1. FC Köln was the number one club (1963-1983). But Bayern had steadily approached their points total by autumn 1983. When Bayern beat Mönchengladbach 4-0 on 1 October 1983 and Cologne lost 2-3 at VfB Stuttgart, Bayern was the number one ranked club for the very first time. But already the next week, both clubs were to meet in Cologne and 1. FC Köln won that encounter 2-0 against Bayern, which got them back to the number one spot. However on 26 November 1983, Bayern toppled Cologne again but this time Cologne would not manage to retain their glorious number one spot which they been so accustomed to during the past 20 years. Bayern had beat Kaiserslautern 1-0 away while Cologne only managed a 0-0 draw at Dortmund. Bayern has remained at #1 since that day while Cologne has dropped to #8 during the 20 years that followed since.

I guess so. They were in the 1.BL three straight years (http://www.fussballdaten.de/vereine/alemanniaaachen/) and were 11th, 2nd and 18th before going down. I was 6 when they were relegated. We have something in common; 1860 was the team that got relegated with Aachen that year.:(
